Jon90 wrote:Awful game, could only be described as scrap-central. Mikel was ordinary, we couldn't even hold possession and did Giroud want to be caught offside any more? A win is a win, but it was a poor performance (from both sides) Only thing that you could consider ordinary was his passing, which at 83% is still good, but not to his lofty standards. Defensively he was good with a game high 5 interceptions and won both his headed duels.

I hate Per and by hate I mean love, the mans a fucking beast. A Mertesacker Vertonghen CB partnership would destroy everything.

Funny looking back at his first season and the amount of people saying how much of a shit signing he was. Proud to say I always had faith in him  People go on and on about his lack of pace, but seriously, I can probably count the amount of times I remember him being beaten on pace this season on one hand. I mean you don't play 95 games for Germany by being a shit cunt

Has been solid as a rock this season and he's a set piece threat (Arsenal never seemed to be a threat from corners for a long time before him).

Giroud has been Immense in every little thing he has done. Guy runs himself ragged and just defends like crazy . The rest of the guys surely think if our cf can run himself into the ground for the team we surely need to help him .

Hopefully wrap it up tomorrow with a win against Marseille and Napoli doing us a favour.
In the end I think we have to make sure we win both games and finish top of the group.

Be interesting to see what kind of lineup we go with. Potentially a chance to give Özil a rest and bring on Rosicky in his position. Also maybe give Rambo a rest and bring Theo into the starting line-up.

Another win and another clean sheet, setting ourselves up nicely for first place in the group. This win and Dortmund's 3-1 win against Napoli means the only way we don't at least make it through the group is if Napoli beat us by 3 or more goals. a 2 goal loss still means we finish 2nd. A draw or a win, obviously, means we finish top. And people said we would struggle or wouldn't make it out of the group.
So much for this November from hell. 5 games, 4 wins, 1 loss, 7 goals for, 1 against.

Some really good stats to come out of this match. As a team we had 727/805 passes at 90% which is quite frankly just ludicrous. Some of these passing % are just ridiculous.
Sagna: 93/102 at 93%, 3/3 tackles, 2 interceptions and 3/4 headed duels
Per: 88/89 at 99%, didn't do much else stats wise but fuck me was he efficient with the ball
Kos: 63/66 at 95%, 4 interceptions and 1 tackle.
Nacho: 55/59 at 93%, 2 interceptions, 2/3 tackles
Flamini: 90/98 at 92%, 2 interceptions and 1 tackle
Rambo: 97/110 at 88%, 6/9 tackles. He attempted almost as many tackles as the entire Marseille team
Rosicky: 79/90 at 88%, 1 interception and 2/3 tackles.
Jack: 38/47 at 81%, 3 shots, 2 goals, 2/3 tackles
Özil: 65/71 at 92%, 1/2 tackles and 2 shots on target.
Giroud was the only player, including Szczesny, under 80% passing and him and Jack were the only ones to attempt less than 50 passes.

So a narrow loss to Napoli couple with a Dortmund win sees us go through as runners up on account of away goals right? If Dortmund draw/lose then we go through as group leaders so long as we don't lose by three goals... What a nightmare of a group! Our only problem with the Napoli game is we have Everton on the weekend before and Man City away on the weekend after so it could affect our league position if we have to rotate too many...

Yeah for the first time in a long while I missed an Arsenal game and forgot to record it so I was looking at the stats just earlier and was blown away. Looks Like Marseille really just sat back and handed us this one. Maybe didn't want to expend much energy on what was a dead rubber for them.

This group really has been a pain in the ass despite our good form. We've performed almost flawlessly in the group stage with 4/5 wins yet we're still in a difficult position in the final game and will have to use our best 11.

Has shown in his youth days that he can hit a ball, top finish. Nice to see he's hitting some patch of form after his poor start to the season.

Not good at all. What's the go with it. Is it sudden or anything?
Never heard of any health problems.

Seems kind of sudden, only health problems I can recall are the knee problems that played a big part in him retiring, and would have made him retire earlier had Arsene not convinced him to stay on.

Rambo made 9 tackles on Wednesday, bloody hell he's still killing it even if the goals haven't come recently.
