sydneycroatia58 wrote:For anyone surprised about us not beating Chelsea this morning, don't be. Just have a look at our record since 2009/10 with Mike Dean in charge  I watched the game on replay before United Hull started. What an atrocious spectacle of football. Both teams going over easy and looking like complete twats

Three wishes for Boxing Day (in order of preference): 1) A win (preferably comfortable) 2) A Giroud goal (the guy deserves one for his work rate but he's looking as tired as a pack horse in the last couple of matches) 3) Top of the league at the end of the day (preferably a draw)

Great to get a win last night, just end that little 3 game blip we had. Also good to come from behind, same as we did last year there. Great to see Poldi back, you forget just how much we missed him and just what he gives us. Also forget just how great his crossing is. Good to see Theo continue his great return from injury with another 2.
Giroud I felt sorry for, just nothing going right for him at the moment and you can tell he's completely gassed. Might be worth starting Bendtner against Newcastle and bring Giroud on if needed. That being said, was nice to see him get a very good assist for Poldi's goal. All in all a good start to this nice 7 game stretch in the league in which we should be aiming to win most if not all of them.

Handsome french bloke getting a lot of haters on arsenal australia Melbourne Facebook page  giry is a old style cf who we will miss when he's injured or gone. Also can I say can we never have stewy Robson commentate our matches again . So sick of his negativity

Reports that Özil hasn't travelled up to Newcastle and is being rested. If true that's not a huge surprise with another game on Wednesday.

In the end it just means Poldi will probably start and Santi will most likely shift into the middle. Not a bad replacement in the end

Get the fuck in there. Massive result.
May I just say well done to Tomas fucking Rosicky. 33 years old and still chasing absolutely everything down in the 92nd minute. Fucking champion

If you had told me at the beginning of the year that Arsenal would be the best performing team in the league in 2013 I would have had you institutionalised.

sydneycroatia58 wrote:If you had told me at the beginning of the year that Arsenal would be the best performing team in the league in 2013 I would have had you institutionalised. A great achievement but do we get trophies for calendar year accomplishments...? Am I glad we're top of the league? Absolutely I am but after seasons of misfortune and (let's face it) just not being anywhere near good enough we're now in a position where we can go on and win the thing. We were last in this position 6 seasons ago and that season fizzled out by late February (Gallas sitting on the pitch at Birmingham anyone...?). We definitely look a lot stronger as team but we can't rely on just Giroud, Bendtner and Podolski to lead the line. Arsenal's second half of the year involves: Home - Utd, City, Newcastle Away - Liverpool, Spurs, Chelsea, Everton, Southampton Not great in terms of the away trips but it's better than Man City... Chel have: Home: Utd, Everton, Tott, Newcastle and Arsenal Away: City, Liverpool, Southampton City have: Home: Chelsea, Southampton Away: Newc, Tott, Arsenal, Utd, Liverpool, Everton Liverpool: Home: Arsenal, City, Chelsea, Everton, Tottenham, Newcastle Away: Utd, Southampton Utd have: Home: City, Liverpool, Tottenham Away: Arsenal, Chelsea, Everton, Newcastle Everton: Home: Arsenal, City, Utd Away: Chelsea, Liverpool, Newcastle, Southampton. Liverpool clearly have the best run but they have Chelsea and Man City as their final two home games of the season so have to be in touch in late April for them to still be a real chance...

Now this is an interesting stat. Since Arsene took over only 3 times have we finished the season in a lower position than which we were in at the end of December.

I'd love to know how many of those times they had majority of the 'big four' or whatever at home after December. So...just actually read the thread title...who's Patrice?

Thoughts on the early transfer window rumours circulating?
Valbuena- seems a bit unnecessary to me Diego Costa- currently set on boss mode, yes please! Dimitar Berbatov- more than handy back up for Giroud Luis Gustavo- really??? Had his chance.... pass Alvaro Morata- loan chance is interesting, I like it with option to buy

I would ignore any rumour about a midfielder. I can see Arsene looking for a striker, and if he can't get one he wants then I don't see us buying anyone. All about a striker this window imo.
