It is simply amusing how quiet you were just months ago in contrast to how much you have to say now

We didn't need to say anything considering our thread was the most active thread on the forum, even without us

Well it went from the apocalypse to circle jerking

The equivalent of the Roar fans

There are also more Arsenal fans active than any other support group.

Tottenham & Gold Coast United....... are you the devil? :-k
If you add St.Pauli or Werder Bremen to your supported teams then I am sending an exorcist your way to save your soul

We're not counting chickens here, we're talking about Arsenal looking on track to finish ahead of Tottenham on the ladder for the 19th consecutive season. With roughly half the season to go, Tottenham very roughly need to win 3 more games than Arsenal do. The first half of the season has shown us that Arsenal have won exactly 3 more games than Tottenham have, and lost 2 less. Do you really predict a turn in that pattern?

You refernce this "dip" or "downturn" - you do realize that Sp*rs are usually the club who experience this post-xmas, right? Remember Mind the Gap & all that?

Anyway in some actual Arsenal news, Andries Jonker has been named as Liam Brady's replacement as the head of the academy.

Quote:
Andries Jonker appointed Academy manager

Arsenal have appointed Dutch youth development expert Andries Jonker as the new head of the Club’s Academy.

Jonker, 51, is currently the Assistant Manager at Bundesliga team VFL Wolfsburg and will join Arsenal on July 1, 2014. He previously spent seven years developing and implementing youth coaching reforms for the KNVB (Dutch FA), in Haarlem and Amsterdam, and two seasons working as a senior coach in the youth setup of the Dutch Federation. This included managing the U15 and U21 national teams.

Jonker also served as Technical Manager for the KNVB for six months before becoming Assistant Coach to Louis van Gaal at FC Barcelona and FC Bayern Munich where he later had a spell as interim Head Coach. He was appointed Assistant Manager at VFL Wolfsburg in 2012.

Jonker’s appointment follows Liam Brady’s decision to leave his role as Head of Youth Development and the Academy. Brady, 57, will work with Jonker to ensure a smooth transition and continue his association with Arsenal as a Club Ambassador. Brady is already an Ambassador for the Arsenal Foundation.

Arsenal Chief Executive Ivan Gazidis said: “Youth development is a key part of our philosophy at Arsenal and I am delighted that Andries is joining us. He has an outstanding track record in developing and identifying young players and creating systems to bring the best out of them. I know he will build on the tremendous work which has been done by Liam and his team over many years.”

Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger added: “I am very pleased that Andries is joining us. He has a big reputation in the game and was a key part of the team which developed the structures which are now producing such strong young players in Holland. I look forward to working with him. I would also like to thank Liam for his work which has been outstanding over many years.”

I simply do not discount it. Football is a funny game. I don't expect it to happen but 3 games more than an opponent are not hard to lose in this league. Spurs know this well  All i'm saying is far too often those who talk too much usually end up with their pants around their ankles. Remember the "Mind the Gap" t-shirts?

Don't forget you're still battling on 3 fronts so injuries and fatigue will "statistically" be more prevalent in your squad. I wouldn't write Arsenal off against the champions so your run may extend further than many predict. Bayern are not invincible and Arsenal are dangerous. You also have a favourable FA cup draw. Three matches a week is hard on any squad and you're not without injury concerns.

I don't think this discussion will result in anything productive.

Since Arsenal fans are so confident that they can see into the future, can they tell me what the winning lottery numbers will be for Saturday night?

Thanks in advance.

Only really picked up the last couple years, used to happen every now and then but happening a lot more now. As far as I'm concerned fuck em  Until the last year or so we had to put up with Sp*rs players coming out at the start of every season talking about how they're better than us and this is the year they finish above us.

One thing we've been criticised of in the past is not putting away the teams we're expected to beat. That hasn't been the case this season, we've dropped just 2 points in 12 games against teams in the bottom half of the table.

whats with the arsenal players' continuous mocking of spurs? its funny once or twice but the players seem to do it alot. has become a bit childish and immature IMO... not that i really care but i dont understand why they get involved in this petty sort of shit

Only really picked up the last couple years, used to happen every now and then but happening a lot more now. As far as I'm concerned fuck em  Until the last year or so we had to put up with Sp*rs players coming out at the start of every season talking about how they're better than us and this is the year they finish above us.

This so much. What annoys me is when the spuds and the media talk them up its fine . But once we start piss taking them it's a huge controversy . Not our fault they're forever in our shadow

Talking your team and teammates up and having confidence in your own abilities is one thing. Sniping at other teams constantly is just infantile.
