As much as I like Giroud, I still think we could really use another top striker. You don't win the premier league without a truly prolific striker. Doesn't seem like any realistic targets available though.

Why do people want cavani :lol: ?? It ain't going to happen and two he isn't proven in the prem . If we pay alot for him he'll be labeled a flop if he doesn't light the prem on fire . Hell giri is labeled a flop even after his last season

The problem is he's not going to available for anything but an unreasonable price tag. Especially since PSG will be very very unwilling to let him go.

While you might not be in the desperate situation were are currently in, how long do you think until you start paying what is needed for world class talent? (Started to a degree with Sanchez and Ozil) Qualifying for Champions League every year is obviously crucial but there comes a time where it has to be about winning the league for Arsenal and it's proven that to win the league, you need a world class striker.

There's spending ie özil and alexis then there's overspending ie Andy Caroll.

And there is Giroud and there is Cavani.

If I had to pick between Giroud or spending upwards of 50-60m on Cavani I'd stick with Giroud.

Spending that money on a CB and DM would be a much much better decision for us.

This . I get that giri isn't a name player that the papers love but he is doing a fine job in leading the line for us .

No doubt he does very well for Arsenal, he is a lot better than the media think in my opinion. But look at every team to have won the EPL, they have had a world class striker. Giroud just isn't going to win a title for you. He is good but for that next level, you need to improve.

I agree. He doesn't compare to a RVP, Aguero, Rooney, Suarez who all on many occasions can get a goal from absolutely nothing. Giroud isn't quite at that level.

But if I had to choose id take a world class DM first over another top striker. We saw last season how easily the defense could get cut up straight through the middle against the other top 4 teams.

With some talk that Poldi could be on his way to Wolfsburg it definitely wouldn't be a bad option to talk to them about Luiz Gustavo's availability imo.

Wouldn't mind either getting Gustavo with Poldi going the other way or adding the money from Poldi's sale and part of his wages to getting Carvalho and another CB

And just on that there is some talk, all just rumours at the moment though, that we've had a bid accepted by Sporting for Carvalho and the deal will be pushed through when/if CL qualification is secured.

Gustavo/Carvalho and Welbeck would be nice.

So Welbeck, Martinez and Remy are some names being thrown around. If Remy reduces his wage demands he'd be a very good buy for 8mil. I rate Welbeck very highly so that would be fantastic but I doubt United would sell to us, and I haven't seen Martinez to pass judgement but I'm always wary of strikers coming from leagues like Portugal.

I just hope that if it is a broken ankle that we do sign someone, bit too much to lump on Sanchez so early on into his adjustment period.

I think I would literally cry if you guys got Welbeck. Can't see it happening.

We will sign someone. If Theo was fit I could see Arsene maybe justifying it, but with Theo still at least another month or so away and with the window open I don't see how he can't buy someone.

The most annoying part is how many fucking times do we see him go down in a game holding his leg doing that stupid fucking hand waving thing and he's fine lol.

Wouldn't be surprised to see us linked with Mattia Destro either (who Chelsea are apparently keen on).

I don't think we're going to sign a striker, think Wenger is set on Sanchez which makes sense when you look at how many wingers we have competing for places.

LW: Cazorla, Podolski, Campbell, Rosicky.
RW: Walcott, Oxlade Chamberlain, Rosicky.

Then you have Wilshere who we know Wenger will fit into the line up somehow if fit.
