Glad we're playing Villa, not because they'll be 'easy', they definitely won't be, but I'd rather play against them and not the Steven Gerrard fairytale finish.

We'd probably play IN to the fairytale, if we were playing Liverpool, and surrender a 2 goal lead to lose by 3.

Referee probably would have given a last minute penalty for a foul that happened to Gerrard on halfway

So we're wearing our away kit in the cup final and thankfully the club has made the right decision and we'll wear our yellow and blur away kit and not the blue 'cup' kit.

Best box to box mid in the Premier League shafted to the right wing to acoomodate a winger playing centrally.

Bellerin my MOTM, completely shut down the player of the season. Never expected him to come on this fast this season.
Also love the cynical fouls from us at the end of the match, we're finally learning

However, how the eff was that not at the very least a yellow card? This is a general comment not related specifically to Arsenal but goalkeepers really do get away with murder!

Were a lot of people saying it should have been a red, those people are idiots. Questions also have to be asked as to how Oscar was allowed to play on considering he was quite clearly not all there. Keepers are the most protected species in the game, just look at the 'foul' on Courtois in the 2nd half when he dropped the ball after he landed and somehow gets a foul.

I think every keeper would get away with it. Could have been a pen, I guess you could stretch the truth a bit and say if not impeded Oscar could have carried on and put it in the net. I'm surprised he got back up, that was a strong hit.

So that's St Totteringham's Day confirmed for the 20th season in a row.
That's also Champions League all but confirmed. We'd have to lose all of our last 4 games and have a 23 goal swing against us to drop out of the top 4.

Was talking to my dad about it last night and in the summer I can't think of something we desperately need, apart from maybe another CF. I'm not sure I want to go splurge on a DM anymore with the way Coquelin has come along. Obviously it's also all dependent on if players leave, like we may need another keeper if Sczcesny decides he wants to leave, but unlike other seasons I don't feel like there is gaping holes in our squad.
I know we've said this before but can't help but feel we're on the verge of something special with this group. Especially now that we are starting to see the influence Shad Forsythe has had on the injury front. Sure we had a ridiculous injury list earlier in the season but it was never going to be fixed instantly but we have started seeing results with Giroud coming back a whole lot quicker than expected and him and Özil looking a different level after coming back, and of course having a fully fit first team for the first time in what feels like a fucking century. I mean Forsythe has even managed to keep Diaby fit for longer than a week ffs.

We need a new DM. Coquelin has been fantastic but imagine how much better we could be with a truly top class player who can actually conribute in breaking teams down as well as hold the midfield. I'm looking at you Schneiderlin.
If Cech is allowed to leave for a club of his choice like Mourinho has suggested we'd be stupid not to sign him. Cech and Schneiderlin and we'd go close to winning the league.

The dream is Cech, Schneiderlin and another striker - Lacazette, Higuain etc. The reality is maybe one of those at best, and that's still fine because as Sydcro said we're not in as dire need of strengthening those positions as we have been in previous seasons. I'm not really overly fussed about a DM (though Schneiderlin would be great) simply because I just love Le Coq so much now that I don't really want him replaced even if there are better players out there

I mean don't get me wrong, if we managed to get someone like Schneiderlin it's not like I'd say I wish we spent the money elsewhere , but I won't be upset at all if we go into next season with Le Coq as our starting DM, and would actually prefer it tbh. He's earnt it imo.
Was also thinking about who our player of the season would be, now the obvious choice is Alexis and obviously can't argue with that. My personal choice though is Santi. The man is a fucking wizard

Have to agree about Cech, if he's available we absolutely have to sign him. Before any departures are factored in my two biggest needs would be Cech if available and another CF, Lacazette would be nice but with Lyon getting CL football he'd cost the GDP of a small to medium sized African nation. Higuain would be interesting, and there have been links lately again with us and him.

I'm not really convinced in the left back positions. I think we need one gun left back to be first choice and let one of either Monreal or Gibbs go. For defensive midfield I'm more then happy to go with Coquelin and Flamini as cover ( although Wenger might prefer Arteta ). With Ramsey and Wilshere both able to play beside Coquelin and behind Ozil and Carzola I think we have great depth in midfield. I'm still undecided in where I would play Chamberlain and curious to know what most Arsenal fans think he's best position is. If I could pick 2 positions to strengthen I'd go for left back and another winger as I don't like to see Carzola or Ozil there and I don't rate Walcott as highly as most Arsenal fans. Giroud and Wellbeck clearly are not the best strikers in the league but I believe we can win the league with them there if like I said we had another top quality winger who takes players on, just look at what difference Sanchez has made to our attack. Overall I'm really happy with the season. At the start of the year I was upset letting Jenkinson go because I thought he was good cover for Debuchy but then steps up Bellerin. Now I don't even know who I'd play if fit I like both Bellerin and Debuchy. Very happy with Ospina ( don't know why it took Wenger so long to make him 1st choice ).

You do know we still have Jenks, he's just on loan.
As for LB, can't agree, imo that's one position where we're strongest.
