Signing Cech gets us closer to being real genuine contenders, but until we get a top of the line striker we'll only be contenders if some things go right for us. A striker, for me, sould be a bigger priority than anything else now.

Think any more signings we make will be opportunistic ones, the squad we have is top quality and only world class players would improve it.
A DM or ST becoming available later in the window is my best bet.
Aguero to Madrid would be nice ,

Aguero to Madrid would be nice , Some talk of Lacazette being available and offered to us for like 21m. If true we should take that and run the fuck away. Would lose my shit if we got him. Edited by sydneycroatia58: 2/7/2015 02:58:38 PM

He didn't make a big deal about the apparent divide or whatever, but I read into it a bit. Anyway, he said that the Spanish speakers were getting along fantastically - heaps of jokes, laughter, etc. I think these sorts of players tend to just naturally gravitate towards each other in a foreign culture, I wouldn't read anything into it. We've got the same situation at United where the Spanish speakers are ridiculously chummy and always socializing together.

Yep, and a further example of why the management need to get the ratio of players, and overall chemistry, spot on. That's why transfer windows are so complicated!

Jenkinson to sign a new 5 year deal before going on loan again to West Ham, fuck yes.
Imagine we'll move Debuchy on after this season.

Got a look at the new away kit, the gold one. I love it. Instantly reminded of the kit we won the league in.. at Old Trafford. I then dug this picture up - how great is the backdrop  Then had a look at the fixtures list - we play at OT in February. But we DO play away to City in the 2nd last game.......

Marca reporting that we've agreed a fee with Athletic for Monreal, but deal will only go through if we can bring in Ghoulam. If not then Monreal will apparently renew his deal with is.

So always looked like Ospina would be the one who would leave, now looks like it'll be Szczesny who leaves. Apparently going to Roma on loan for the season with Roma having the option to make the deal permanent.

For me Ospina did a decent job in the 2nd half of the season and I'll be very comfortable having him as number two and starting for all Cup games.

I now have a new favourite picture. Link up between him and Ramsey is just top top class. Both need to be central.

Get the fuck in Quote: Cazorla and Walcott sign new deals Santi Cazorla and Theo Walcott have both agreed contract extensions with the club. Walcott, 26, is Arsenal’s longest-serving current player, making his 300th appearance for the club last season. He has scored a total of 76 goals since joining the Gunners in 2006. Theo finished last season in outstanding form. The England forward netted a first-half hat-trick against West Bromwich Albion in the final Premier League match of the season, before scoring the opener in the FA Cup final victory over Aston Villa the following week. Cazorla, 30, enjoyed another excellent year for Arsenal in 2014/15. Playing in a deeper midfield role for the Gunners, he made 53 appearances in all – more than any other player. In total, the gifted Spaniard has featured 148 times for Arsenal since his arrival from Malaga in 2012. His tally of 27 goals includes many important strikes, most notably in the 2014 FA Cup Final victory over Hull City. An experienced international, Cazorla has won more than 70 caps for his country and was part of the squad that won the European Championship in 2008 and 2012. Arsène Wenger said: “We’re delighted to have extended the contracts of Santi and Theo. Both are top quality players who are hugely important and influential to our squad. "As well as their huge contributions on the pitch, they both have a great deal of experience and are very popular off the pitch. We’re very pleased with them both signing contract extensions, as it provides our squad with further stability of quality.” Everyone at the club is looking forward to the continued contributions of Santi and Theo in the seasons ahead. http://www.arsenal.com/news/news-archive/20150731/cazorla-and-walcott-sign-new-deals Edited by sydneycroatia58: 31/7/2015 09:04:59 PM

Have seen a lot of Arsenal fans complaining about Theo getting 140k a week. I don't get the complaints really, in terms of the market it's probably not far off considering what some other players at other clubs are getting paid. Also don't think people realise that the club also got Theo's image rights in this new contract which would have bumped his price up.
In the end the club can't win really, they either pay him and people moan he's getting paid to much or club lets him go and another club pays him and people moan that we should have kept him.

Yeah, I agree. I also look at Theo and see he is only in his mid twenties, so IMO he still has a lot of improving to go. I personally still don't think he's suited to lone striker, and still think he's a winger or second striker, but I trust in Wenger's judgement with him.

So proud of Arsene and the boys.
Meanwhile, Gombau runs away instead of finding a way to beat Muscat.
