FFS this is the sort of shit idea you'd expect to come out from David Gallop. I don't understand why people care about this so much? Who gives a fuck who's captain it means nothing. I give a fuck and let's be honest. You wouldn't or don't see any of the other big clubs making stupid moves like that it's simply childish. The fact Walcott would even take the armband and like the whole idea makes me question him. He's a fucking adult not a little spoilt kid. He's not captain end of arguement so he shouldn't pretend to be one for a one off in such a big game like tonight. Guarantee you clubs have done something similar before. Most managers will tell you who wears the armband means very little because as far as they're concerned there should be 11 captains out there. The only thing the armband means is who the referee speaks to Every team has it's leader and ours isn't Walcott. I don't ever remember another big well respected club doing the same. I do agree with you to a degree that it's not as big as some people make it out to be but at the same time it shouldn't be devalued as bad as it was tonight. Anyways time to try and get some sleep I'm off. If we don't beat Southampton next week I'll give up on the season. We've done this before  I remember Kolo Toure taking the armband for I think his 200th game or some other milestone. That's the only one I can remember off the top of my head but I wouldn't be surprised if we've done it on other occasions. The armband means shit, our actual 'captain' isn't even first choice. Hell, with Per and Santi out and Mikel likely on the bench, Theo may as well have it again against Burnley

Yeh I know we've done it in the past I'm saying other big clubs don't. Obviously it's different when your captain and vise captain are both injured but when they are on the field it is a joke.

Our captain wasn't even in the squad this morning and our vice captain got sent off after 18 mins.

And on Per, did feel a little sorry for him because it was a ridiculous dive from Costa , but he should never have even attempted the tackle. The smart thing to do would have been to let him go and put faith in Cech. Better off being 1-0 down with 11 men than down to 10 men after 18 mins.

It was a ridiculous tuck and roll but the challenge was just silly. Gave the ref no option but to send him off.

Costa had every chance to keep going, but as soon as he takes a step his right leg magically buckles under him  As you say though, the referee had no option, in real time it would have looked a stonewall red.

Coquelin back in full training since Friday and could be back for Burnley or for the U21's this weekend. Welbeck back into first team training this week aswell.

Clearly I'm talking about who's captain at kick off which was Walcott instead of Per who is vice. Anyways it's great to have Coquelin, Ozil, and Sanchez all fit in our next EPL game or even Burnley. I wonder if we'll get to see Elneny against Burnley.

Some talk about us agreeing a fee with Dynamo Kyiv for Yarmalenko in the summer.

So Arsene confirms Coqeulin is back after 2 weeks of full training. Rosicky is also back and available. Jack, Santi and Welbz just a few weeks away with Danny being the closest. He's had 1 or 2 sessions of full training and was only just short of being ready enough for the U21's this weekend.

Yeah from what I've seen and read he's more a Ramsey box to box type player than a Coquelin, but apparently he can also play that holding role. Don't be surprised if we see some of him and Coquelin playing together in the middle. We're also set to make our 2nd signing of the window, Kelechi Nwakali, who captained Nigeria to their U17 WC win last year.

What a fucking disgrace by ESPN. Second half has started and they are showing American sports and haven't even got a sign to tell viewers what the fuck is going on. Seriously how unprofessional by ESPN.

As expected a quiet transfer deadline day for us, just Debuchy and Sanogo going out on loan to Bordeaux and Charlton.
Also Hull at home in the next round of the cup, our run of home cup games continues
Chelsea v Man City also a nice little helper if we get past Hull.

Okay it's FA Cup or nothing yet again. Title's gone. So fucking frustrated we never got a striker at the start of the season or even in the latest transfer window.

I'm waiting until after we play Leicester to pass any judgement for the title. One things for sure when Santi comes back he goes into the middle and Rambo out to the right
