2008 thinking in 2011... Poulsen was gun with Seville while Lucas was rather average, now Poulsen is about as useful as Stuart Musalik while Lucas heavily critcised in his first two years at the club but is one of the most consistent players in the squad the original tag has stuck with some uneducated supporters while Poulsen has looked completley out of his depth and was apart of a basketcase Juventus last season... so yeah experience but he's still shite

Also start playing like 5 years ago yeah that'd be good with Xabi Alonso, Peter Crouch, an in-form JAR, and Luis Garcia but different squad different times FFS... frankly rather live without Europa League because it's been a waste of time and got in the way of the league campaign, we played reserve teams in the europe this season most of the time, Torres played less than half of those games so it shows that we're not taking it that seriously which we shouldn't... of course would like to be higher up the table but wouldn't mind missing out on Europa League next season and finishing with a top half finish

I know it comes off the Bolton defender but that doesn't matter. Cole would only be onside if it was a deliberate pass back which it wasn't.

How can he be called offside if it doesn't come off a Liverpool player? I guess you know the rules better than I do, but I always thought you can't be offside if it comes off an opposition player last.

Na, you can only be in an offside position but still be deemed onside when it's a passback to the keeper. Like this

On the other hand lets say a long ball gets put through hits a defender and goes to a player in an offside position, that player is still deemed offside.

I thought it was if the player inadvertently touches the ball (such as a deflection) then the attacker is deemed to be taking advantage of an offside position.

Re offside: It is when a Liverpool player last touched the ball. As Maxi didn't touch it; it is deemed onside.

Offside is Law XI in the publication Laws of the Game written by the IFAB and published by FIFA. The law states that, if a player is in an offside position when the ball is touched or played by a team mate, he may not become actively involved in the play. A player is in an offside position if he is closer to the opponent's goal line than both the ball and the second-to-last defender, but only if the player is on his opponent's half of the field (pitch).

Poulsen has been probably the worst signing in the EPL this season, I had hope for him when he joined us, but he's a long way from his best (which wasn't that great to begin with). Lucas has looked good this season, not great, but he's improved a LOT. Lucas, Kelly, Ayala and Insua look really promising if this season's performances are anything to go on.

The stuff about Rangnick makes me concerned. We'd basically be signing him for the same reason we signed Hodgson - because he's done a lot with a very mediocre squad - albeit that he's not english. If Liverpool want to go back to punching with the heavyweights then they need a big name manager, not Rangnick.

I've watched it a dozen times. Maxi didn't touch it.
