I cannot hide my jealousy, the bastard. That would have been an awesome game to go to! Much better performance from Liverpool. I think we were a bit unlucky to not score more. I was very happy with the way we attacked in numbers and with purpose. How much did the team lift with Gerard on the team. That was a vintage performance and he really deserved a goal after setting up two and coming close on a few occasions. gerrard just brings so much energy and creativity to the team. Between Gerrad and Kuyt for MOTOM for me. Kuyt was brilliant, setting up chances, getting up and down the flanks and tackling. Gerrard was pure class. Lucas had another good outing, besides his terrible miss. he looks a much better player than last year. The aim now must be to string a few wins together, get a few results and perform consistently for the rest of the season. Are you aware you spelt Gerrard's name three different ways in that one post? :P Gerrard MOTM by a country mile. Maxi, Kuyt, Aurelio were all very good as well. I'm not going to ban him Sydcro. I just feel sorry for him. Poulsen is not better than anybody. I'd prefer Spearing over him tbph.

I guess you know the rules better than I do, but I always thought you can't be offside if it comes off an opposition player last.

Na, you can only be in an offside position but still be deemed onside when it's a passback to the keeper. Like this On the other hand lets say a long ball gets put through hits a defender and goes to a player in an offside position, that player is still deemed offside.

I thought it was if the player inadvertently touches the ball (such as a deflection) then the attacker is deemed to be taking advantage of an offside position.
Fair enough - I'll take it anywayy!

We're being linked with Ralf Rangnick. Took Hoffenheim from the third div to the top of the Bundesliga. Just walked because they sold a player behind his back. And apparently FSG are interested in bringing him here. Don't know much about him, but reading a few articles and interviews, he sounds good.

The Rangnick talk may not all be hypothetical. Apparently Hodgson is now the favourite to be the next EPL manager th get the sack.

Re offside: It is when a Liverpool player last touched the ball. As Maxi didn't touch it; it is deemed onside.
Offside is Law XI in the publication Laws of the Game written by the IFAB and published by FIFA. The law states that, if a player is in an offside position when the ball is touched or played by a team mate, he may not become actively involved in the play. A player is in an offside position if he is closer to the opponent's goal line than both the ball and the second-to-last defender, but only if the player is on his opponent's half of the field (pitch).

Cole was off-side. http://dai.ly/hNjWIE The view from behind the goal shows it clearly. Poulsen has been probably the worst signing in the EPL this season, I had hope for him when he joined us, but he's a long way from his best (which wasn't that great to begin with). Lucas has looked good this season, not great, but he's improved a LOT. Lucas, Kelly, Ayala and Insua look really promising if this season's performances are anything to go on. The stuff about Rangnick makes me concerned. We'd basically be signing him for the same reason we signed Hodgson - because he's done a lot with a very mediocre squad - albeit that he's not english. If Liverpool want to go back to punching with the heavyweights then they need a big name manager, not Rangnick.

Dagger wont want out if he gets some gametime. Which we can't give him if he is injured all the time. How could you possibly see from that angle? Maxi's body is blocking the cameras view of the ball. If you watch the replay after that you can clearly see it touches Elmander. Love how the commentator says 'Stevie G' on 23 seconds (I Think) No idea how you think it comes off of Maxi's inner thigh :S Clearly comes off Elmanders hip.

Quote:Dagger wont want out if he gets some gametime. Which we can't give him if he is injured all the time. This. Hes been injured most of the season. Now that Carra is out he'll get a chance to cement his spot in the team hopefully. He played well the other night, hopefully he can keep it up.
