It's sad enough that people were giving him stick for that Everton game. It barely beggared belief. Wut? He did well, and he was where he was comfortable. He was a constant presence, but true, he wasn't as good or confident as he was last season. But that penalty was pure class. I don't think Kuyt will go. Not when one of his childhood heroes is managing him. :) Interesting news, though: http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2011/jan/19/liverpool-kenny-dalglish-long-term-manager

That Penalty was BRILLIANTLY taken considering the amount of pressure on him at the time. People giving him stick need their head read. He was probably the best player out there v Everton. And he's the only reason we haven't COMPLETELY fallen apart without Gerrard and Carragher. No doubt, we'd be 0-8-3 without him out there.
I dunno what to expect with Kenny's tenure. I'd like him to stay long term...but there's a chance we'll sack him then if things don't go to plan. I think he's the man to lead the club forward though. Just needs to get the lads to stand up better in a physical environment.
I'm so sick of watching us get pushed around by lesser teams. Hell, in the everton game their physicality in the first ten minutes of the second half was the only reason that they got back into it.

Quote:I That Penalty was BRILLIANTLY taken considering the amount of pressure on him at the time Oh come on, it wasn't that good. If he goes that way it's an easy save. He sold him well, but it was hardly brilliant. He'll be 31 at the start of next season... I think we could see him playing a bit less next year.

Any penalty in a derby is twice as hard to take. Especially when you're 2-1 down. HE did bloody well.
He may be 31 but he's still got pace and still runs a game out, maybe after next season he'll be phased out, but he's definitely key to the sides fortunes at the moment.

Liverpool FC establish 'supporters committee'. I'm going to take that as a big step forwards from the board and administration in reconnecting with the fans.

I'd like to see who and where they appoint the 'overseas' fans from. One would surely be from Ireland...but after that...?

The Liverpool team in full is: Reina, Kelly, Johnson, Agger, Skrtel, Maxi, Lucas, Poulsen, Kuyt, Meireles, Torres. Subs: Gulacsi, Cole, Konchesky, Aurelio, Spearing, Kyrgiakos, Shelvey.
Spearing out for Poulsen. No wonder Kenny wants to sign Adam. He wants a three man midfield, and if one of our regular three (Gerrard, Meireles, Lucas) is out, our next option is Poulsen ](*,)

31 consecutive successful passes in the lead up to that third goal. Stunning.
And Meireles.. oh my word. That is just stunning. If that doesn't win goal of the month... :P

Much improved performance. Credit to Wolves though, they pushed hard even into the dying stages of the match. Brilliant work from Meireles, capped off with a stunning strike. I would almost argue that we didn't miss Gerrard too much; as Meireles was immense! His performances have been getting steadily better over the past couple of weeks. He definitely need to be in the center for us. Good game from Torres too, hopefully he'll continue banging them in toward the tail end of the season.

He is flourishing under Kenny. Not playing CAM or RM, but CM with licence to get forward. Whenever he played CM under Roy he was very restricted... You can tell Kenny has given him licence to go forward and support, like he did for the first goal.

 Torres you cheek bugger! I'm sure most of you are aware but for those who didn't get a chance to see it, Torres and Stearman were battling each other all game. And then after Torres scores he goes and grabs the ball and drops it at Stearmans feet. All class

I think it was the "have the ball" when he did it that made it, not the action itself.
Great performance. About time we turned out something decent. Dare we dream that the lads are finally clicking under Kenny and standing up to the more physical game? Or did Wolves just fall apart?
I guess we'll find out this weekend. Fingers crossed for the former.
There's talk today that we're ready to make a move for Keisuke Honda.
Also hearing more murmers about Luis Suarez that we've got until the middle of the week to meet Ajax's negotiated price.

Meireles got goal of the week from Sky, and he and Kelly made their team of the week :)
Lineup for Fulham game? I'd imagine Gerrard in for Poulsen. Only change I can see.

Needs to know that the baseline tactics are sound enough to accommodate sparky individuals. Maybe. Just my theory. Keep reading a whole load of stuff on the rumour mill. Everyone reports Babel as on his way to Hoff, including the LFC site, while Goal report that he's not going, possibly because Ajax asked for 29.8m for Suarez, so Babel might be held back as a sweetener. THEN I load up the Echo and see this: Not only that, but reports have Jovanovic as having an offer from Wolfsburg. Finally, I'd welcome Charlie Adam, who's put in his xfer request, with open arms. I heard a 7m bid rumoured. Yoink.

Suarez deal is off, for now imo. Adam won't come for less than 10mil pounds imo.
Looks like only thing to happen this January is Babel to Hoffenheim.

Another must win game, another solid win would be marvelous. Re: Suarez, I'd say that deal is off the cards until at least the summer. It's a pity he's on a contract until 2015 or something. I think we'll be priced out of a move for him. 25m is obscene. Likewise with Charlie Adam. I'm hearing figures of up to 16m quoted for him. He's not worth more than 7-8m, which we should definitely spring for of it means we can move Poulsen along. I'll be disappointed if the only transfer we make this window is Babel out. We really should have sacked Hodgson at the start of the window to give Kenny more time. Comolli's attitude is starting to annoy me too. He's basically just being a sleaze. Up your game, son.

There is no such thing as 'value' in the transfer market anymore.
