If Carrol is worth 35mil Torres has to be worth 100mil . . . . i think Suarez will run riot once he settles, and Carroll is already used to English game so makes sense not to get 2 new strikers from different leagues

Torres move to Chelsea also now confirmed.

Kelly LB, Carra RB, Skrtel and Kyrgiakos at CB? Despite this, I've been pretty impressed with Konchesky's performances this season. He's much more solid defensively than Insua ever was. He gets into good attacking areas too. Probably been my pick out of the defensive players so far. cant agree there, he has struggled . . . Kelly alot better proposition in my opinion and he will only get better

sydneycroatia58 wrote:Torres on Chelsea deal: "I am so so happy and so proud to be here" That makes me physically ill. Fuck you Chelsea! Just a point regarding Andy Carroll; yes it seems like a gigantic amount of money and a risky move but Carroll's only 22, Strong, powerful in the air, has scored goals against the top teams (Arsenal, and a cracker against us IIRC), he's got a decent strike rate (31 goals in 82 apps for Newcastle) and will have a top strike partner in Suarez. I'm looking forward to Carroll and Suarez tearing Chelsea's aged defense a new one at the bridge! There's no reason why those two can't become one of the deadliest strike forces in the league To all those bemoaning the amount of money spent on Carroll I ask, would you rather we not have bought a striker? Sure it's a lot of money but I'm glad we've bought in a replacement. Edited by Dugongs: 1/2/2011 10:44:28 AM

If you look back through the forums you can clearly see I've changed my stance, and was hoping he'd be gone this transfer window after some pretty poor performances.

Might have to go watch him burn his Torres shirt later and make a shrine to Andy Carroll.

Massive waste of money imo. i feel physically sick.... it's not that torres is gone, i can accept that, but for the club to waste such money on such an over-rated player makes it so much worse, it's just terrible, god this is bad... we've never been a club to pay ridiculously over the price to get a player, and now that we have, i don't know what the football club means, we're just as bad as chelsea and man city by spending so much money on a player like that... Dzeko was cheaper ffs, would have preferred the rest of the season to be a rightoff and then sign somebody in the summer, this is wrong on so many levels, it's up there with the Qatar decision for me

Barca only paid 34 million for David Villa 6 months ago..... Should've taken Sturridge and then gone and bought David Luiz with Chelski's money.

He was a man of specific quirks. He believed that all meals should be earned through physical effort. He also contended, zealously like a drunk with a political point, that the third dimension would not be possible if it werent for the existence of water.

Torres was Rafa's big signing and it all went downhill for Fernando since he left really... it's hard to think what has been the defining moment that led to this downfall for the club
