Pretty bangin. Anfield is awesome. You should see the area surrounding it though. The are the most run down, derelict terraces everywhere around it. It's like you are in a slum or something almost before this massive stadium rises out of nowhere. I guess I'm used to what it is like here where there are stadiums only in city centres etc now just in a suburb.
Hearing YNWA was something I will never forget. It brought tingles to my skin.
The museum had the coolest LFC shit in it but I only got a few things because I didn't have room in my baggage. I got some LFC socks and a few other little bits and pieces. Got two scarves, one LFC bar scarf and another LFC vintage hand knitted scarf that is red and grey and the biggest warmest awesomest scarf ever. Plus it was freezing and so I could wear that one around everywhere whenever I wanted. Apparently you don't wear club colours around London not on match day because you look like a tourist...
We had dinner before the match and drinks after the match in 'The Boot Room' which was awesome, and we had a speech and got to ask questions of a former liverpool great. We missed the start so we had no idea who this guy was but from what he told us about his career etc and looking it up it sounds like we were spoken to by Tommy Smith. Looking at his photo he looks very similar to the dude who spoke to us. We were too stoked and excited to care about the finer details at this stage... we were at Anfield!!!
The match was awesome, we sat in the Centenary Stand which is behind the goals on the opposite side to the Kop. We were in the front row of the centenary stand which is on the second tier which worked out perfect we had the most epic view. I remember sometime in the first half we won a corner on our side and Gerard came over to take it. The crowd eruption was something I was not expecting. It was as loud if not louder than when I saw kings of leon in 2007 at Falls festival and the sound of the crowd erupting as they came on stage.
Fuck Gerard is a demi-god over there. Wait he is more than a demi-god. What's above god? Because he is pretty much that. Watching him play in person is ridiculous. I watched him very closely the entire match and I'm pretty sure that he did not make one error. Every single touch was silky smooth, with his first touch he opens himself into space, his strength on the ball. He is definitely the best football player I have ever seen with my own eyes.

Not so much in england. Unless you're a kid. Sounds like a fantastic trip. Hopefully I can get off workcover save up a few more bob and do likewise.

Having said that, I saw a bloke with a United Giggs shirt on walking outside Stamford Bridge before a game, he didn't even seem to be copping anything from the Chelsea fans, not even any friendly banter, I didn't understand it, . Not as if it was like United were in either. :?

When we went to Liverpool in 2009 I didnt know what to expect. I didnt wear a strip, but did wear a collared Liverpool shirt. Didn't cop any crap - but we did smash blackburn 4-0! Smashing goal by Agger that day - watched the ball from side on beat Robinson and go into the back of the net.

I wore my jersey. But we were strictly instructed by everybody we met not to wear the jersey out after the game. We went back to where we were staying, got changed then went out. Apparently wearing a jersey... especially LFC or the dreaded in Liverpool is asking for a stabbing.

The game against Sparta Prague will be Kenny's first ever European game as Liverpool manager.

You hear stories like that all the time with young kids wearing Celtic jersies being beaten senseless by Rangers fans in Glasgow. Quote:The game against Sparta Prague will be Kenny's first ever European game as Liverpool manager. six years in charge of LFC and not one european game to his name seems like such a waste.

He'll be back for the last few games, although not match fit probably.
It's a shame, he was coming along well and Kenny seemed to like him.

Skysports was reporting that he'd be out for between 3 and 4 months. So even if he does come back early he won't be getting any game time I'd think.

You don't wear it out because they wouldn't let you in any bars of an evening. Nothing to do with stabbings. Football stabbings in Liverpool? Nah. Gangland stabbings? Yes.

Liverpool: Reina, Kelly, Carragher, Skrtel, Johnson, Maxi, Meireles, Lucas, Aurelio, Kuyt, Suarez. Subs: Gulacsi, Kyrgiakos, Wilson, Poulsen, Pacheco, Jovanovic, Ngog.
Initial thought was 4-4-2 but could also easily be a 4-3-3. Happy with that, shame that Gerrard and Dagger are injured though.

so something like this
Kelly-Carra-Skrtel-Johnson Lucas-Meireles-Aurelio Suarez-Kuyt-Maxi
?

Yeah I think that's how it will be. Shame about Dagger, but I think we will be ok in Gerrard's absence. Hope Suarez does well and finds the net.

We had to stop winning eventually. Shame Sunderland couldn't hold on to their lead.

You can't win em all. But six games unbeaten isn't exactly something to snort at either. We lacked a cutting edge and that was probably due to the friendlies (as Dalglish said). We've got a chance to build well against Sparta - which I'd expect us to win comfortably - and West Ham - likewise - before we have to play United. And I expect we'll make a game of it. If we can make it to the Arsenal game without losing (here's hoping) we'll still be in with a shout at 4th.

I think Aris are a stronger side than people are making out. Their league form has been sketchy of late, but they've got some decent players there (Neto and Lazaridis spring to mind...and Castillo if he'd get more game time). And of course we know that City's form goes up and down ad infinitum and they'll probably steamroll Aris in the return leg.

Young Raheem Sterling, who bagged 5 in the youths on the weekend, has made the trip to prague with the rest of the lads. If he gets on the pitch he'll be the youngest ever first team player.

Tom Hicks has won the right to sue the RBS for damages over the sale of Liverpool. Apparently Pool aren't the direct target of this but Martin Broughton is.
