Wow that is absolutely brilliant. Smashing business by the team at LFC really. I heard that we might not have even had to pay a fee for Bellamy as long as we could match his wages. That was on radio 5 BBC.

Quote:''HAHAHAHAHA!
I absolutely ******* adore FSG in the transfer market, I really do!
We did this on in January! We got Carroll and Suarez in, and in less than a week people were still questioning whether they had money or not.
Now this window we go and bring Hendo and Adam in... then all of a sudden we can't afford Downing... til we get him... and Enrique... and Coates.
And then... less than hour after it's closed people start to ask .. "Do they actually have money"
Well. Played.'' Post on RAWK. So so true. I'm already reading people saying maybe we dont have that much money, etc. Cracking business. Love having good owners!

Haha people are so silly. FSG have money, its just they are smart in how they use it. Henry is a fascinating man how has a great business sense and its shown in what he has done at LFC: hire Comolli, KD, Steve Clarke and plenty of other back room staffers. He then okayed some of our best transfers e.g getting rid of that scoundrel Torres and bringing in Suarez and Carroll with that money. He is a legend.

 Look at that. Look at all those players who we were paying exorbitant wages. They are now off our books. Just sit there and let that sink in. \:d/ \:d/

This will give the likes of spearing more chance to play and dare I say it a Conor Coady debut.

For sending Cole to Lille and paying 60% of his wages, we negotiated a first refusal on Eden Hazard? http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2011/aug/31/liverpool-joe-cole-craig-bellamy

Heard we'd tried to get first dibs on him but it was rejected.

When you think about it, Meireles going doesn't have a massive impact. Your midfield is pretty solid at the moment and you still have Gerard to come back. On the other hand, I think you'll miss the link-up that he and Suarez had. Further, Suarez is the type to get frustrated if he hasn't got that sort of movement and work ethic around him.

Which is why he'll be ecstatic when Gerrard comes back. He's linking up well with Kuyt and Downing in any case. Quote:Out Torres - 50m Babel - 6m Konchesky - 1.5m Ayala - 1m Aquillani - 7m ( although not yet ) Ngog - 4m Meireles - 12m
Total = 81.5m
IN
Suarez - 23m Carroll - 35m Henderson - 16m Adam - 6m Doni - Free Downing - 20m Enrique - 5m Coates - 6m Bellamy - Free
Total = 111 m
Net Spend around 29.5 m
Savings on wages will prob pay for that
Yearly wage
Cole - 5m Kygriakos - 3m Insua - 2m El Zhar - 2m Degen - 2m Joavnovic - 3.5m Every other asshole we let go - 2.5m
Total 20m So. We've spent 9.5million overall (roughly). Defence (out): Gulacsi, Soto, Konchesky, Darby Defence (in): Doni, Coates, Enrique. Verdict: Definite upgrade. Midfield (out): Cole, Poulsen, Meireles Midfield (in): Henderson, Adam, Downing Verdict: Definite upgrade Forwards (out): Babel, Torres, Ngog, Jovanovic Forwards (in): Suarez, Carroll, Bellamy. Verdict: Definite upgrade. Upgraded every part of the squad for minimal cost! Well In. Also, total list of players we sold/loaned/released: Bouzanis, Chamberlain, Degen, Darby, Irwin, Soto, Ayala, Insua, Konchesky, Poulsen, Aquilani, El Zhar, Ince, Cole, Jovanovic, Bruna, Pacheco, Ngog, Saric, Mavinga, Cooper, Meireles, Gulacsi. So much deadwood gone \:d/

M.L. wrote:imno love your player summary well done - makes me feels better after knowing Raul went to chelski :( but the engine room looks very solid once Gerrard is match icing on the cake ! Yep! I'm interested to see who makes way for Gerrard when he comes back, most likely candidates are Adam and Henderson. Carroll Downing - Suarez - Gerrard Adam - Lucas Or Carroll Downing - Suarez - Henderson Gerrard - Lucas Or even Suarez Downing - Gerrard - Henderson Adam - Lucas In some games. Options, options, options! Then of course Maxi, Bellamy, Shelvey, Kuyt as offensive bench options. Yippee!

It's just nice to be able to go into a game without Stevie and not think we're already behind the 8 ball. The squad depth we have now is top notch.

So that's 3 transfer windows in a row you've sold a player to Chelsea with Torres in January and Benayoun last summer.
