Yeh I have only seen one replay of the penalty and even thought it was Suarez, I have no complaints. Clear penalty and no stretcher needed. Things are on the up.

Gerrard out for 3-4 weeks I'm hearing. Shame. JUST transferred him back into my fantasy XI. BASTARD. Pretty boring game, but the result was good. Nice to see Carroll get a toe-poke on. I think he's of the opinion that if he gets enough chances in the game then one is bound to go in. Thought he'd screwed that goal at the first touch, but he did well to get it past Foster. Penalty as. I don't what the fuck Paul Walsh was talking about, not a penalty in his book... took the man without an inch of the ball. And he could have taken the ball, it was that close. He just stuck his hip in. They were lucky not to concede another for Olsson clattering into the back of Carroll in the area as well. See Glen Johnson getting wound up by the fans calling for handball every time the ball went above knee height? Needs to watch that.

And yet that's what it was - another goal.
Well in AC :)

Yeah, I thought it was a pretty clear cut penalty. Didn't get anywhere near the ball. Agree on the Olsson one. I thought that was more of a penalty than the actual penalty

Just looking at the table and noticed something.
If we had've beaten Norwich, we'd be third right now! Bit upsetting but shows how tight it is.
Our December run is the important one.... Fulham, QPR, Villa, Wigan, Rovers, Newc... 18 points on offer, and if we get 5 wins and a draw that will be great, and will certainly keep us in the hunt.
Swansea, Chelsea and City next though... I'd be be very happy with 7 points.

Somebody posted up the numbers in the LFC thread, and Kenny's net spend so far is 38million. I think that's fantastic, considering how much stronger our squad is compared to the state it was in last season. Not to mention the wages saved thanks to shipping TWENTY ONE players off in the last window. 21 players, it really is incredible how much deadwood we had in our squad.
I think back to where we were this time last year and it just makes me grateful for where we are and puts everything into perspective.

Someone was saying the other day, in terms of staff and players are Liverpool the newest team in WF. New owners, new manager, new DoF, and half the squad have come in all in the last 12 months.

Yeah, probably true. Our XI still has a lot of oldies in it, Pepe, Agger/Skrtel, Carra, Johnson, Lucas, Gerrard, have all been here at least a few years, but up front it's very new with Downing, Luis, Andy, Hendo.
But yeah... we really did need that overhaul. We were heading in the wrong direction. Now we're all moving in the right direction and everybody is pulling that way, there's no rifts like we had before.

When Downing, Suarez, Carroll, Adam and Enrique (at least) have been at the club for less than a year we're always going to be considered a 'young' squad. Nothing worse than spending the week away and coming back to the news that Gerrard is out injured again.

I think back to where we were this time last year and it just makes me grateful for where we are and puts everything into perspective. To be fair, we couldn't get much worse than this time last year. For instance, my wife nearly killed me for sitting at a farewell dinner for her boss and checking Twitter every 5 minutes to see if the club had been sold or gone into administration again. She had to buy me a $70 bottle of wine to get me to put the phone down. I'm much happier with the performances. However, I'm wondering what happened to what was ostensibly a 4-6-0 Kenny used at the end of last season to cope with the lack of positional players. Because it worked... we decimated the Mancs with it.

http://gotnotgot.wordpress.com/2011/10/26/keggy-and-tosh-as-del-boy-and-plonker-rodney-as-batman-and-robin/Not quite old enough to remember this, but I remember the photo from later on, and I remember thinking that at least it wasn't as prolonged as the Anfield Rap.

This whole Gerrard infection thing troubles me. Why is he getting constant infections in his injuries?

It could make a minor cut or scratch from a late tackle career threatening.

To be fair to the guy, he had major groin surgery not long ago. Regardless of how careful you are, that kind of stuff has ongoing ramifications. Steroids - which he may well have been on to reduce swelling, and may well still be on in some form - compromise your immune system somewhat, so it's not utterly shocking. And although it is concerning, he's probably in the best hands he could be.
But the most important thing we've learned from the last year is that although a Gerrard in the squad is awesome to have, and although most clubs in the world would cry out to have him in their side, we don't actually need him in the side to win or look good. Like in the late Rafa years, we have a squad that's able to transcend Gerrard.

found this on rawk:
Latest news from another forum is that:
"there will be a be a bit of a delay on the announcement, they were hoping to have it announced this week. Supposedly, the new stadium design is for 68000, they are still hoping to get that raised to 73k and thats what is holding things up. The designers are the same guys who designed the Beijing Olympic stadium, and the sponsorship/naming rights have all been agreed. its an Asian Insurance firm i think" "New stadium on the park but new design. 74k but dependent on council otherwise its 68k. Looking like Standard Charthered sponsoring it and Allianz Architects are doing it. Sep 2014 move in supposedly"
Lots of rumours going around about the new stadium... dunno how reliable but here's hoping!

That's a big investment from Standard Chartered if it's true.

Except lots of fans don't want them to move. I don't want them to move. Especially not out of Anfield. They own most of the empty houses around the stadium anyway, and Anfield really needs the stadium there. The place has been left out in the cold by the city for long enough, and now there's owners willing to develop, they're ready to shift out and move up?
Call me old-fashioned, but we should be redeveloping and adding on to the existing stadium. This is something the council want, and not something the majority of locals or regular fans want.

But how much can we add? I thought if we expand it can only go up 10-15k.

If we expand anfield the most we can possibly get to is 62,000 and it's going to cost us the same amount as building the new stadium, building towards the future and allowing us to invest future income in new players.
