He meant, Leeds and Aldershot (games) were 48 hours after a prior game. I think.

Leeds and Aldershot (even after good opponents) are a little different to Chelsea after Man City especially when we are playing to win the Carling cup (if we like it or not) as we need to get the winning mentality back at Liverpool

Those games both had delayed kick-offs to give the players as much rest time as possible though. And that's a little different to having a game brought FORWARD against a top4 side just 48 hours after playing another top 4 side. It's bullshit.

I agree that league cup games against lower league opposition isn't the same as playing someone in the top 4. But, where do you draw the line, one of these games coming up is in the cup, do you change the fixture list depending on if is a tough game or not?

The toughness of the game shouldn't be enough to change the fixtures, just luck of the draw.

No, when the London police advice against a game being played on X date it should be pushed back, not brought forward so close to another game. It's just common sense. There are plenty of other dates the game could have been scheduled for without this being a problem. And as Kenny pointed out, the sponsors should be livid when clubs are forced to play a second-string line-ups due to scheduling problems and detracting from any possible prestige in the competition.

What a hero.

I can't find highlights yet - what were they like DT? Good goals?

I assume it was one of his usual all over the park displays, nutmegging players everywhere, beating his man, but this time he added goals? :P

Just finished now. Hopefully he can bring that form back to England and Kenny looks at how he is deployed for Uraguay.

He's basically played the same was as he is for us. Just he isn't marked as tightly in South America.

First and last were great goals. Both from outside the box. Second was off his shoulder. Third was a good header, but he was unmarked.

I honestly thought it was the game of his life. He was involved in everything.

Lucas lands prestigious gong
15th Nov 2011 - Latest News

Lucas Leiva's impressive form during 2011 saw him crowned the North-West's Premier League Player of the Year on Monday night.

The Brazilian scooped the award at an MBNA sponsored ceremony held at Lancashire County Cricket Club in Manchester.

The gong was in recognition of excellence both on and off the pitch.

The Reds midfielder has been on international duty with his country over the past week and played the full 90 minutes in Brazil's 2-0 friendly success over Egypt last night.

Following the win, Lucas tweeted: "Well done everyone for the victory. It is always important to finish the year winning."

Oh god. WF is going to fall to shit when someone picks up on the Suarez thing.

In any case, He has been charged which means he has a case to answer. He has not been found guilty. But that's how it will be inferred.

I'm amazed because the FA themselves said they could find no proof of anything. I still expect us to appeal and this to get kicked out.

Thank god I'm busy all day and can't get on, I don't wanna see the carnage on here.

As much as I hate Suarez I don't think he's stupid enough to make racial slurs. I don't think there will be enough evidence to suspend him. Even so I wouldn't like to see him suspended, he's an exciting player when he's on his feet.

I think he will answer the case and it will get thrown out.

Can't wait for Dizzy and Afro to get on and verbally assault everyone who difers in opinion to them

A lot has been mentioned/suggested that he perhaps used a word that is not racist in Uruguay, but may perhaps be deemed so here. As an example, 'Negrito' is a very friendly term in Uruguay and a lot of south America, but if Suarez said that to Evra, perhaps he wouldn't take too kindly to it.

But I wholeheartedly agree with you - Luis would never intentionally make racist slurs at Evra. I think his own mother is dark skinned!

Also a telling factor for me is how strongly the club is backing him. As good as he is, no way would the King put his head on the block in his defense unless he was certain.

And like I said before, there is no evidence of anything. With the Terry thing we saw footage up online within the hour. It's not possible that there is some secret inside knowledge about it that hasn't leaked.

I guess you'll have to wait and see what comes about. Would be strange if the FA withheld evidence because I doubt they'd want Journo's speculating.

Worrying for Luis and the club that the charge has actually been placed though. If not found guilty do you think Evra should face punishment for creating a shitstorm? I personally do, for the damage he has done to Luis and to LFC.

This. But it is important to remember if found not guilty, it doesn't mean it didn't happen. So if Evra was telling the truth but there is no sufficient evidence and Suarez gets off, why should Evra then be punished.

NOT SAYING HE DID SAY IT!

Yeh sorry I should have been more specific. I mean if they can prove nothing racial was said, then he should be punished.

I think the final result with be inconclusive though. Therefore nothing happens to either and then some English politician will come out and say how important kicking racism out of the game is etc etc.

Well, it's tough. If, like I said above, he said 'negreto' or something similar, then it's not really one person lying, it's just misinterpretation between two people. I don't see a way to prove that Evra totally fabricated it, so there's no way he will get punished.

I still firmly believe Luis wont be found guilty though... but the FA couldn't just let it slide without making it seem like they're doing something a bout it.

Isn't David Gill part of the FA too? :-" :P

Not the case. IF he is found guilty after the hearing, he'll probably get like 5-6 weeks, but 3-4 of them will probably be suspended.

But again, doubt it will go that far.
