All valid points. The whole thing does my head in more than ever. Hopefully we're on top of all this when we appeal.

I hope we don't appeal. If they decide not too appeal, he will only miss 4 premier league matches, possibly 3 if we draw our third or fourth round fa cup tie. With fixtures against tottenham, man u and everton coming up in February and Arsenal in early March, its better to take the hit now.

I understand that mindset, but our club isn't prepared to just lay down and accept an unjust decision.

What is an appropiate punishment?

I have said 8 matches is harsh, don't think it is a stab, just wondering what you think he should get instead or do Liverpool think he deserves no punishment?

If we take the hit after the City game tonight, he's going to miss the Spurs and United games anyway. It's better to attempt an appeal and attempt to get him out on the pitch for as many games as possible. Appealing also delays the suspension, giving us time to find that much needed striker in the transfer window.

I think 8 games is acceptable. But it should be 4 games served now and 4 games suspended sentence for the next 2 seasons for any behavioral violations.

this is what I was thinking. We should be able to draw the FA cup game 'accidentally' anywayand make it only 3 prem games against not great opposition allowing Suarez a rest and Carroll some game time.

Anyone heard about the chances of getting Milan and Lille to pay up for Aqualani and Cole? I've heard Cole is doing well but haven't heard anything on Aqua other than that I have seen him in highlights and he had that awesome header goal at the start of the season.

You're only gonna get 5.25m from Milan for Aquilani anyway, that is if he plays 25 games this season and if Milan choose to buy him.

Even then he's still going to be out for the spurs game. And drawing the Oldham game could look...well, quite suspicious.

Yer but it's not like we have won every game we should have this year. Blackburn, swansea, Norwich those games ring a bell and who did we get knocked out to last year? so what if it looks suspicious they wont pull us up on it

Is that in his deal? I would be pretty happy with that but I hope there may be some more extra payment clauses as well. He has made 15 appearances so far so should make 25 (will probs do his ACL tomorrow now)

Yeah once he plays 25 games(not sure if it's league games or all comps) the buyout clause is 5.2m

We have said we are not appealing but will we play Suarez today because it is still within the 14 day time frame, Hope we do but Kenny might want to pack the mid as we need someone to do what Lucas did in the other game and it will probably take an extra body in there.

That error from Pepe kind of set the tone for this morning  Shame to lose like that but sounds like we really missed Bellers, Luis, Stevie, Maxi.

What's wrong with the statement from LFC? It's spot on - the report WAS horribly subjective. Most neutral fans I've spoken to agree on with that fact.

Whatever, it's over now, we'll see you in February Luis!

Next up, Oldham in the cup. Hope to see Coates, Kelly, Aurelio, Shelvey, Spearing, Maxi, possibly even one of the youngsters (Sterling, Coady?) all get a run.

I think the funniest thing about Reina's mistake is that when he goes to kick the ball away in anger afterwards, he kicks it into the post and it flies back and hits him in the shoulder

"Liverpool Football Club have supported Luis Suarez because we fundamentally do not believe that Luis on that day - or frankly any other - did or would engage in a racist act."

He admitted to using the word ](*,)

Time for them to admit he wasn't being friendly to him. Anyway, yeh time to move on. It is over now that the ban has started.

Talk that Liverpool will be wearing keeper gloves in their next game to show their support for Reina :d

HE admitted to using it in a non-racial context.

The statement from Luis does seem more professional and well-worded than the one from the club though:
Luis Suarez wrote:
Hello everyone,

First of all, I would like to express my sincere gratitude for all the support I've received these past few weeks. To my family, friends, mates of Uruguayan team and its staff and of course to the Liverpool F.C. (workers, coaches, managers, my teammates, and all who are part of the day-to-day life of this great club), and, of course, all the fans who never once allowed me to feel... alone for even a single second throughout all of this. These past days, I have felt the meaning of that support more than ever: You never walk alone.

As many of you know, I was born into a humble family in a working-class neighborhood of a small country. But born and raised with the values of respect, politeness, and sacrifice. My family, from the very first club where I started playing up until my move to Europe, have instilled the values that have shaped the person I am today. Let me be absolutely clear: I've never -- ever -- had a single racial problem with any team mate, player, or person with a skin color or race different from my own. Never.

As a result, I am very upset about what has been said about me in recent weeks, all of which have been very far from the truth. This is further compounded by the helplessness I feel for not having done anything yet being accused of something I did not nor would ever do. In my country, the Spanish word for “black” is a term commonly used and does not symbolise any disrespect, let alone racism. Everything that has been said beyond that is completely and utterly false.

I will comply with the sanction, but with the acquiescence of someone who has not done anything and who feels extremely upset about what has transpired. I’m sorry for the fans and for the teammates who I will not be able to assist in this coming month. This will be very difficult for me.

My only wish is to get back to the stadium and do what I like most again, that is, to play football.

Thank you all very much,
YNWA
Luis Alberto Suarez.

As for the outcome of this morning. It was another typical Liverpool game. Dominate possession, keep the ball in the opposition half. Have more shots on goal, more passes, more crosses,. Basically dominate every statistic in the book. And lose 3-0. IF we don't sign a striker this January I'm going to be miffed beyond words.

There's no point crossing it if there's nobody in the box. Andy was so isolated, he'd be up against 3-4 players in the box and be all on his own.

We need to commit more players in to the box. It's been a problem all season.

He didn't have a lot of chances to do anything this morning. He had a quiet game. Richards had his measure for the entire second half.

Andy Carroll didn't do enough to make himself a target and our midfield was too busy sitting deep to control possession to help out.

Al in all a game best soon forgotten.

He allows himself to get pushed around far too easily. And for a guy who's 6'3", he's quite underweight at 73kg. He needs to bulk up so he can be used as a target man instead of being pushed around up top when he's lone striker.
