NESV have fucked the Red Sox with bad business, now they're doing for us. They bought the team in 2002, they've sold out every home game they've played (yes, EVERY SINGLE ONE) since 2003, they won the World Series in 2007. They lost a couple of key pitchers in 2011 and haven't been the same since.

We created really well at times, Downing #-o far out early in the 1st he had a go and I'm sure Schwarzer got his fingers to it to make sure the shot went out but was called a goal kick ? So what I'm saying Downing finally nails one ! looked comfortable ont he ball and attacked. Loved Skytel's blast well deserved especially after his previous own goal. Agger ?! how the - he missed that point blank early 1st half ?! Great to see SG break through the line and turn that one in nice lead up. Luis's was top lead up again. Well from 1-3 loss to this and 8th on the ladder  5points off 4th :o Edited by M.L.: 23/12/2012 09:53:51 PM

This is ridiculous. You can't go from losing 3-1 to Villa to beating Fulham 4-0 to losing 3-1 to Stoke. Enough of this shit, Rodgers out.

Just because you're playing 'stylish' football doesn't mean a thing if you aren't winning. Bullshit statistics don't win games, goals do. He's doing just as poorly as Roy Hodgson was. We've got the same number of points through 19 games as we had under Hodgson.
We lost just lost 3-1 to a team who was subsequently belted 8-0 by Chelsea and 4-0 by Tottenham! The team has no consistency, no direction and nobody to score the goals.

I'm still in favour of seeing him stay. It's not his fault the strikers keep misfiring.
Might change my mind after the transfer window if we're still fucking up come March.

Getting rid of Rodgers would be a horrible, horrible decision. And wont happen. And I lose respect for anyone calling for it.

We are not Chelsea. I don't see any benefit from dumping Rodgers before he can have a full impact.

Signing a manager with a proper history and positive track record would be a good start.

afro I'm with you most times but I can't see changing the gaffa will bring the turn around we are all waiting for, he's not doing too bad considering the cattle hasn't changed much to date. Mind you I don't expect much to change come Jan for he just doesn't have the $$$$ at his disposal that would really bring on the turn around we all have hoped for for so long. What I just don't get we forever keep buying players who don't carry on and deliver the goods as expected. Borini - wtf ! yet swansea get someone like Michu and look what you get to date. K. Jones, always liked his stealth kind of forward play, no we never get anyone like him either. BR is already getting everyone prepared don't expect much in the transfer window, so don't worry about 2-3 mid stream players just buy another gun forward to back up Luis ffs.

You know that's not going to happen. We'll bring in 2-3 deadwood players which we'll have to find a way to offload in 2 years time.

Sturridge and Butland seem likely/possible.
If Butland comes in I can see Pepe being shipped out.

We just need time it won't happen overnight but it will happen. :-$ :-$ :-$

We need to stop "re-building" and changing the core of the team and actually build around that core for a change. Again, I point out that we've had the same shortcomings for the better part of the last decade - lack of depth in holding midfield, no consistency out wide and no support for our main striker. And now on top of that we don't have that commanding CB like we had with Hyypia and we don't have that creative midfielder like we did in Alonso. Little wonder we're languishing mid-table. Quote:Sturridge and Butland seem likely/possible.
If Butland comes in I can see Pepe being shipped out. The only reason Butland would come in would be as a second option. There's no way in hell we'd be stupid enough to trade an experienced premier league keeper for a 19 year old lad who has one League 2 and one Championship season under his belt. That said, this is Liverpool we're talking about...

Good win. Gives us a few days to prepare for an inevitable drubbing :P
Suarez is godlike. Gerrard was beast and hats off to Hendo, up sick all night and still puts in a great shift.

There are a few quality managers around in interesting positions at their respective clubs. Pellegrini, Mazzarri and Simeone off the top of my head. There's also that Guardiola, is available and though people raise doubts as to his effectiveness and that he might be a 'one trick pony' kind of manager, you've got exactly what he needs at this club - a narrow midfield, a team who move the ball well on the carpet and a creative player up top to focus the team around.

You have some good points above re gaffas Afro but imo BR isn't the major flaw. Quality cattle is the usual missing ingrediant. Below from your earlier post : " Again, I point out that we've had the same shortcomings for the better part of the last decade - lack of depth in holding midfield, no consistency out wide and no support for our main striker. And now on top of that we don't have that commanding CB like we had with Hyypia and we don't have that creative midfielder like we did in Alonso." The above I agree entirely ! imno can go on about Lucas and yes I'm glad he's in the squad but he's a spoiler/worker and we need this no doubt but we need a solid creative mid badly, one who can intercept, distribute and attack the line and or feed that killer ball behind the defense week in week out..... With the above and players in positions you quote then I would judge BR more so...... < I have to, compared to you younger followers at least I got to enjoy the good days but damn its getting long in the tooth [-o< Edited by M.L.: 2/1/2013 03:48:22 PM

The players aren't the issue here IMO. We've still got Skrtel, Agger, Lucas, Gerrard and Reina (ie the same core) from the team that came second in '09. They're all very good players along with Suarez, Sterling, Johnson and Enrique. They're all capable of playing world class football.
I think it comes down purely to motivation, tactical and situational awareness and the ability to control the players adequately.
Instead of paying attention to what's happening on the pitch and responding to that, we've got backroom staff who are more interested in studying stat sheets on the sideline, reading statistical situation histories and watching replays on their ipads. Little wonder we're dominating games only to have one momentary lapse on organisation cost us points.
