This kind of long breaak is only good for key players recovering from injury but imo your next game many times your not in "gear" so its not great but I'll be glad to be proved wrong vsing the latics who we usually have trouble with these days and in their current scenario its going to be another nail biter, we haven't won there since 07 !

It would have been better to have a break during the xmas rush.

Coutinho seems to be a very good signing! Very impressive.
Suarez, the first player to hit 20 league goals this season in the PL. Good stuff lad.
I find it laughable that last week he was FOURTY TO ONE to win Player of the Year. I mean, 95% chance he wont because of the off field stuff, but still. He's come in to like 6/1 now.
Good to see Pepe back making some good saves too.

I'd only like to see Michu take it out if he keeps performing for Swansea

It will be Bale or RVP. The only thing Suarez has a hope of winning is Golden Boot as there's no sentiment/opinion. It's just goals.
If he keeps this up he can certainly win it. You never know when RVP will go goal crazy though
I mean, Bale has had an incredible 6 weeks.
But RVP and Suarez have had an incredible 6 months. I'll be disappointed if Bale wins it.

I'm expecting that Bale will win it.
Great performance by the lads last night. Coutinho and Suarez put on a real show. Coutinho could be the best signing we've made in a while. We really need to back it up with a good win against Spurs next week. Worried about what Bale could do to our defence though.
When we're winning, we're winning well. Makes you wonder wtf is going on in the other games.

Yep. Good signs though that when we click we're very good. Just have to get the consistency up.

We've also scored 30 in our last 11. Just gotta fix up the defence now  But Lucas getting back to form will help fix that.

A new CB has got to be on the shopping list. And some more competition at fullback, especially with Kelly struggling with injuries over the last few seasons.

Have to admit, Liverpool are looking dangerous right now. It's a bizarre feeling (being a Toffee) but I actually kind of like Suarez - he just doesn't give a fuck and he's a great player too. Loved him when he was at Ajax too.

Not sure what else I really want us to sign. Another DM as backup would be nice. And probably another attacking option.

WHat a win. Courtinho is impressive. Suarez is a gun. We're clicking well. Good to see Reina back.
Nothing we really need outside for the defense, perhaps a better quality backup keeper.

That's our primary concern, followed by more depth at DM.

As for the present doing the latics like we did was a big change to the past. Impressed so much - Courtinho is providing that much needed attacking spark we have lacked to the final 1/3rd Luis must be loving it. What a pleasure he getting the 3 and jumping to top goal scorer x 2 =d> Can't wait for s*urs this week - both teams in form this is building up to be a cracker !

In fairness, I can't remember Liverpool ever doing particularly well at the Lane. It's our turf this time, and Everton (in front by 3 points) are also yet to make the trip to Anfield. Bale will still be his dangerous best but I give us a good chance at walking away with the 3 points...

The last time we struck three times was in a 3-2 win in 2003 and the last time we won by more than two was a 4-0 victory in 1975. However, Spurs have won just 1 of their last 14 trips to anfield (Granted, that was their last trip north).

Sky Sports wrote:Liverpool debt rises by £21.8million after posting £40.5m loss in annual accounts Liverpool's debt has increased to £87.2million after they posted a loss of £40.5m in their annual accounts.
The figures apply to the 10 months between 1 August 2011 to 31 May 2012 to coincide with the football season.
Although commercial revenue increased, so did the Anfield club's liabilities, but managing director Ian Ayre played down the significance of the rise in debt levels.
"It's definitely not something I believe anyone should be worried or concerned about. It is seasonal - our debt goes up and down," he said.
"We have money to pay out and money coming in, just like any business.
"The difference in football is some of the swings are significant, so if you look at player trading, we may need to make investments as we do in the summer before our key revenues come in: big sponsorships cheques, big ticket revenues, all the media revenues etc. "You come to Christmas when you maybe have less revenue coming in but you have got money that needs to go out, both on playing deals that you are doing at the time but also on historic player deals.
"Debt has increased but I think it's a factor of doing business in the time and place we are."
Other contributing factors to the increase in debt were player instalment payments plus exceptional payments of just over £9.5m, relating to matters such as the stadium project, general restructuring and pay-offs to senior employees who left the club.
"We see a big charge within the accounts for amortisation (depreciation in value) of players that have been disposed of within the period that perhaps came in on a higher cost," added Ayre.
"We've made losses as a result of selling them but at the same time we've improved our longer-term position in terms of our wage bill by reducing the wages for those particular contracts.
"We've in the same period refinanced our lending facilities, which gives us ability for working capital to operate as a business."
Since the end of the accounts reporting period, owners Fenway Sports Group have injected £46.8m into the club via a non interest-bearing inter-company loan while credit facilities were also refinanced with three major banks, providing £120m of facilities for three years. I'm a little confused by this one...We're not counting the May-August period of the year - so when the FA gives us tv money for the season, sponsorship income and season ticket and merch sales are at their highest? :?

Hey I can't gather the clubs accounting - not much makes sense to me.

Mertesacker's lack of pace was Arsenal's undoing last time out, their defensive line was where it should have been. Those league tables show our problems have gone from one end of the park to the other.

It's just the other way around this season  We took 34 points from our opening 19 games last season (1.78 PPG) and just 18 points from our 19 return games (0.95 PPG). This season we took 24 points from our opening 19 games (1.26 PPG) and so far we've taken 17 points from 9 return games (1.88 PPG). If we can continue that average we'll finish on around 60 points, which would be a commendable haul given our slow start. However, we've played teams ranked above us on 16 occasions this season, and won just TWO of those games.
