Really should have been 3 wins from our last 3 but I'm glad we bounced back with 2 good wins after the Hull game.
Hope Gerrard is ok.

That Hull result really let us down, we could be 3 points closer to Arsenal right now. As things stand we're not looking so bad though and if Everton can take a point off them it will have been a very productive week.

No use crying over spilt milk re. the Hull game. Every team in the top 6 will have at least one of those games this season. I'm glad the team have bounced back in emphatic fashion, putting West Ham to the sword last night when it briefly looked as though they'd fall back into that bad old habit of dropping points at home to mediocre opposition. Really hoping Stevie G is in the clear, having Sturridge out for all games in the next month is enough of a loss. I think we're all curious to see just how capable this current squad is...

Henderson is really going to have to step up if we're without Gerrard at any point. It's never a good sign to see Stevie unable to finish a game.

But being completely out played by them at home is inexcusable.

I think we made you look very good by playing a suicidal high line with Dawson (again) and just being generally horrific.
Perhaps you may have helped put the final nail in AVB's coffin though so perhaps thank you?

Far out Luis on 15 goals to date same as spurs account over 16games  (Sturridge on 9) How many games did he miss start of season ? I don't think we are title contenders BUT I'm feeling good for a top 4 finish but the wheels could fall off due to injury, bad luck who knows :-k Edited by M.L.: 16/12/2013 09:14:36 AM

Fantastic performance.
Real chance we can go top of the league next week if we do the business over Cardiff and Arsenal don't beat Chelsea, which I think is a good chance of happening.
The two games after that are vital. I'd take 2 draws tbph.

Those 2 games may or may not be vital, other results can change the course of everyone at stages I think its more so important now not dropping the games your expecting a favourable result. Sure draws would be great in saying that.

Spurs were sub-par, let's keep that in mind. However, to go to what's more recently been a bogey venue and blitz a top 4 contender without Sturridge and Gerrard was a class performance. It's becoming more apparent that this current Liverpool squad knows not just how to win, but how to put teams to the sword. Hopefully, irrespective of ladder position, focus remains on Arsenal, Chelsea etc. and Liverpool continue to be regarded as punching above their weight...

Looking at our midfield I think our starters are all good enough buy especially with Gerrard out we need to bring one or two players in next month. I say two as I was looking at would Seedorf be a good signing for a season and a half? Now we would have to hope Milan doesn't give him the head coach role but we could get him.
We have seen with Gerrard that as an older player dropping into that role can be a good move and what I have seen of Seedorf he is in great shape. It be a player coaching role and more than what he can do on the field I think off it he can bring experience in just being a winner which I think is important. the only worry I would have is he may not fully respect Rodgers.

yer fair points CH and moofa. Spurs have been a different team from the start of the season as we've seen but importantly as you say normally a tough venue for us so this win is a big turn around and as mentioned without SG and Sturridge. moofa I recall just the other week BR said he will not be buying through Jan, will be interesting if he sticks to this for he said he has faith with these lads....he sure is playing on their minds.

Gotta say I absolutely love that midfield trio of Allen, Henderson and Lucas. I think it will serve us very well for years to come.

Great win, yes Spurs weren't great but the way we started had a lot to do with that. Midfield was great, don't think Allen has had a better game for us since he joined. Stoked for Flano to get that goal too.
Imno's right, next two weeks are crucial for our chances of finishing in the top 4. Following that we play most of the other top 4 contenders at home too.

Hopefully, irrespective of ladder position, focus remains on Arsenal, Chelsea etc. and Liverpool continue to be regarded as punching above their weight... That's quite generous to Spurs. They've been playing some very average football now that AVB doesn't have Bale to rely on. That said, it was a good performance with a lot to be pleased about - mainly how players stood up in the absence of Sturridge and Gerrard. Their absence is much less of an excuse now. We need to make sure we take the 3 points against Cardiff given we finish the month with trips to City and Chelsea. Keep the confidence rolling and hopefully we don't capitulate against Man City the way Arsenal did.

Could be BUT that position just doesn't come to mind for me - all I wish for is that the wheels keep rolling obviously have to suffer a loss here or there, a good run without many injuries and deliver 4th place thats all I hope for :d

Then had his best game ever on the weekend. Football hey.
