Should have been 5-0, apart from that I don't have too much to complain about. Liverpool are in the prime position to regain their rightful place in the Champions League, anything above 4th would be a bonus. I was expecting a draw or a 2-1 win so to come out and thrash a decent team in that manner, in a pressure situation, is a further confidence-booster!
There are only two intellectually honest debate tactics: (a) pointing out errors or omissions in your opponent’s facts, or (b) pointing out errors or omissions in your opponent’s logic. All other debate tactics are intellectually dishonest - John T. Reed

Captain H should have been 7nil - Raheem should have slipped the ball past howard from that great through ball through the 1st half. both Sturridge errors, the pen and another counter that Continho was free in the box for an easy pass back but to go for glory in a nevernever position - hence the angst after between them and even from LS having a go at him LOL....great call by BR thinking lets take him off job is done and let the boys cool off. What a performance by all the lads - really happy for Flanagan, sound game Baines hardly caused him any trouble. SG was solid as expected, Skrtel and Toure solid as - I thought missing Agger this game would be evident but not one bit. Continho was great in the middle, back to form this game. LS's halfway counter was epic - you could sense the defenders couldn't afford to take him down, what a finish. 4nil is epic loving it ! as mentioned great confidence booster. In BR softly spoken mode - your a nice person Roberto welcome to Anfield but I'm afraid you got owned this evening ! We inflicted the biggest loss in 30yrs to your blue boys what have you to say to that ! \:d/ Roberto Martinez fancied Everton's chances of winning at Anfield for the first time since 1999 ahead of the game, but there was a gulf in class on Tuesday as Liverpool swept their neighbours aside, all Roberto could do was smile :d Edited by M.L.: 29/1/2014 05:12:30 PMEdited by M.L.: 29/1/2014 06:09:59 PM

No team has a 'right' to be in the champions league  Good performance but let's not go into the WBA game too cocky. With Chelsea travelling to City this weekend it's imperative to get a win against the Baggies so we can really put the pressure on Arsenal next weekend.

Well not great as yet but the potential is there, I'm sure BR is advising very well with his staff, fine tune and once he hits the back of the net more often then who knows, one thing for sure is his speed, I enjoy seeing him coming from a yard behind winning the ball - then to distribute smarter as well, it will come I'm sure. Many key games again coming up - a win v's the baggies is a must ! as you say afro sets up the next game very well, also the win could have us right on chelski's back considering they vsing citeh at home following day.

Finishing technique is something that will come with time and experience, Suarez aside it's a shame there's nobody at the club who's a really lethal finisher that he can learn off. He's got good composure most of the time.

The thing with Sterling is he has very good off the ball movement, he's an intelligent player that will only get better.

When does Ian Ayre's position start being called into question?

It may just be me, but it seems like Liverpool take a long time over transfers. Even in the summer, talk of signing this player and that player and next you know that player is at a different club in no time.
Same thing happened with Salah.

sydneycroatia58 wrote:When does Ian Ayre's position start being called into question? Right now. Liverpool needed to make a statement of intent this window and sign SOMEONE. Do SOMETHING with ambition to show they're the real deal competing for the top 4. Ayre has failed miserably. Some people are questioning FSG's willingness to invest and blaming that, but the fact is they can't cough up another 1m to match Chelsea's Salah bid but then a week later they've got another 4m to offer for Konoplyanka? That's absolute tosh. Ayre's placid approach to transfers, leaving things to the last minute and lack of willingness to show aggression has been a total letdown. We've been told there's money there and we've shown a willingness to use it in the past. There is no excuse. Granted he did good work in getting the club the Standard Chartered sponsorship but the fact is his tenure has been filled with a litany of transfer shortcomings, misfirings and flops (Suarez and Coutinho aside). We poked fun at United's summer struggles but this to me is as bad, if not worse.

Commercially we're in a better position than we've ever been, he's had a hand in and obviously dictated some absolutely fantastic deals. Can't blame him for Konoplyanka, deal was agreed with the player, everything was done but the chairman just decided to be a cunt. Not his fault.

Not that they are completely similar scenarios but there are similarities when Arsenal though they had got Suarez. So I think a lot more facts have to come out before it's all thrown at their chairman. From what I have heard, Ukraine seem to be in a whole heap of shit and his attention was on more serious matters, not on the last few hours of a football transfer window. Should have been done far earlier in the window in my opinion.

Ayre fucked up by not getting it in writing the moment the agreement was made - a rookie error that shouldn't be being made at this level. He also fucked up by leaving it to the last minute. You know you're looking for a wide attacking player, you've been looking at Salah and Shaqiri for the last two weeks and then you leave it another 2 weeks before making a move on a player who's in a country in political strife? That's just foolhardy to say the least.

Well that was shyte ! I watched most of the 1st half before having to go nite nite - was a messy start for both teams, I thought after the usual settling in period we would finally play some football but we played just as ordinary as brom was as far as I'm concerned. So hearing of the full time result upon getting up didn't surprise me. I read BR is putting on the positive spin having improved since last season's 2 games against them but you know I expected more right ? 2 points lost not good ! OK I forgive Toure not the first not the last making a costly error but ffs 3points would have been great for the ladder position ! Oh well bring on the gooners.

Toure - an experienced defender - makes that absolute rookie error? Are you kidding me? He should be raked over the coals for that.

Interesting. Finally having a good year, one error and the world is ending.
Compared to the United lads in here who seem rather content despite the shit creek we find ourselves in.

afro - no need to, do you think he'll do similar again ? I highly doubt it and bet BR would look at it that way as well. Sure you'd be burning up inside but nothing can be done. oh zim - no one likes dropping points, doesn't matter where on the table you are, by the way the content as you describe it by your lot is only because they have to suck it up period full stop, sooner or later you got to pay your dues \:d/ - for some young 'uns it would be their first experience of ever having to be humble for a change - even the cocky older supporters I know are vewy vewy quiet nowadays :d why - because most can't take it

It's the kind of mistake that not even a U18's player should be making. 14 years experience and he has a brain fart like that which costs us 2 points and sees the gap to the top 3 widen even more. It's not the kind of mistake your starting CB can be making if you plan on being in the top 4.

Had to know when signing him that Toure had this in him. Yes, he is an experienced defender and can do a very good job but the guy is a clown when he has the ball at his feet. He doesn't think, he can sometimes take 10 little steps to try and get his feet in order to play a 5 yard pass. Just look at his reaction, that sums everything up about Kolo Toure.
