I counted 5 shots on target. And as I said before, he shows why we need pace up front but also why he isn't a striker.

Because of him though, we had more shots on target than we have had since Spurs. I think he deserves to keep his spot up front and try to play himself into striker form. He's done it before and his second attempt was Sturridge-esqe in the way he cut inside for the shot.

We know what we're getting with Lambert and it's giving us no pace up front and we've been struggling to get crosses in especially since we never have many players in the box.

Having Sterling upfront also leaves us more spots in the midfield where we have a surplus of good young players that need some game time.

Raheem is the only best option staying up front full stop till Sturridge returns whenever that maybe !

You can add them to your backline being both defense's arn't much chop ;)

They're much like Falcao, not up to it at the minute.

Lambert and Balotelli have had a combined 23 league appearances for 1 goal.

Faclao has had 6 for 1 goal. Falcao at least has been good in his time on the pitch. Lambert has been Lambert and Balotelli has been woeful.

Still not delivering what you'd expect from a guy costing you 300k a week.

It's amazing how his wage has gone up to 300k for opposition supports since he hasn't been scoring. Not saying he isn't on ridiculous money and not saying he has lived up to the hype (yet) but United are in a good position with him I reckon.

I'd be worried if the rumours about the deal already being done for a permanent transfer are true considering his output so far.

It's all dependent on CL football, we make, he signs, if we don't he goes to Madrid.

I've only ever seen it reported as 300k a week.

I think that was the media trying to say he had a highest earner clause but most of the credible sources and the club reporters have it at around 250-260k. Still way too much for any footballer and what's 50k when you are talking about those figures. But it's just like United transfer fees, opposition fans usually put an extra 5 or just round it off to the nearest 10 to make it sound more expensive. Have seen people try to say Di Maria was 70m. But again what's 10m with those figures.

Well there's a shock.

So, so frustrating.

We really should have won that. Hopefully we can use this momentum over the next few weeks and string some wins together.

I'll watch the replay tonight - I watched most of toons mackems but had a early start so had to shut down.

Best game of the season so far imo - considering the changes made by BR we looked the most fluent since last season.
We got a bit of our counter mojo back was great to see.
I loved seeing Can back - he's strong and sound.
Sakho scares the be jesus out of me at times but ends up doing his job.
Commentators gave Lallana MOTM but I thought Coutinho was ahead (the open play back heal leading into Lallana's goal was beautiful to watch) - when this guy is on his game were good !
Sterling had a great game as well.
Minolet was the only negative, he just can't guide a kick with straight power up the field or line, floats it and doesn't make ground.

Have you seen him run this year?

No doubt he has a role to play and an important one but there is no way he should be starting when it matters.

Still need his leadership. Running hasn't been key to his game for a long time.

Leadership doesn't count for much when players can walk past you.

Not saying he can't contribute but Liverpool look such a better team without him.

He didn't play one game and we looked good.

I think he should be rotated due to his age etc and not playing every game but I think he is still a very good player to have around and us winning had a lot more to do with how our front 3 performed and how Swansea shot themselves in the foot, not how our midfield played. Replace Lucas with Gerrard in that game and I don't think anything changes
