yer, I so wish I arranged myself for this instead of having to take the fam to Melb for the Real/Citeh game. So whats the feeling about Firmino ? 23yrs - 140 appearances for 35 goals for Hoffenheim 9 games for Brazil 4 goals. 29m.

Decent signing if true and looks more likely that Sterling will go. Not sure another attacking mid is high on the priority list though. Can has been playing in the middle for Germany at the under 21 Euros and has been impressive so hopefully he gets more time in midfield this season.

I'm ecstatic. I think it's what we need. Not the only thing, but we needed more firepower and creativity in the front third and I think he brings both.
Typical Brazilian player but seems to have an eye for goal too. Him and Coutinho linking up behind Sturridge would be nice.
I'd like us to sign another midfielder to add some depth - Hendo/Lucas/Allen/Milner/Can is good, but I think they'll all go in and out of form and I'd like us to have one more.
Bring in Clyne, Digne, a CM and another striker and get rid of Balo, Borini, Sterling and I'd be very happy.

Fabrizio Romano (Sky journalist) also said we are back in for Kovacic. If we got him as the CM and then ST and fullbacks as above would be awesome :)
Wrap up Kovacic and Clyne quick smart, and then get rid of Raheem and two dud strikers and bring in another ST and another LB

What are your thoughts on the £29 million transfer fee? Seems a bit excessive in my opinion but could be a good signing for you guys.

Well, 2nd highest transfer fee in our history so will come under some scrutiny but not the most outrageous fee going around. Considering we paid 20 mill for Markovic last year, probably about right. Have also read that it is 21 upfront with an extra 8 in potential ad ons. Edited by Pr1mo: 24/6/2015 11:29:45 PM

Rogers balls to the wall on this one. Can't afford another expensive flop. Replacing a big name in midfield too.

Yep
Kovacic and another striker (Bacca please) and then I'm stoked. Some more defensive options would be great (maybe Digne) but if we just got Kovacic and Bacca from here and sold Razza, Borini and Balotelli (and obviously Aspas lol) I'd be happy.

Clyne is a good signing, won't see me saying otherwise with that one but I have never seen Firmino until 3 weeks ago, so with the likes of Di Maria, Rooney, Fellaini, Mata, Januzaj, Herrera and Pereira, I think I have every right to prefer them over a player I have no clue about. If United did want Clyne, which I would assume there was interest, you have to question his ambition ;)

Just saw an article saying Southampton agreed a fee of 12.5 million pounds. Now just for personal terms to be agreed and the medical.

Clyne is a ridiculously good signing for Liverpool. I'm genuinely surprised he wanted to join them given how up and down they've been in the last couple of years.

Coming here he is pretty much guaranteed to be starting most games (unless we go with a back 3 and even then he could play as a wing back). Arsenal don't need a RB, at City English players are used to fulfill the homegrown rule but don't play, he wouldn't get a game at Chelsea and United have been using Valencia ahead of Rafael. It's a smart move from that perspective alone, ignoring the history of the club, etc.

Greater pressure and expectation (realistic or not depending on who you support). Also, looking at the squad we've got a lot of very decent players around 23/24 so with a few more years of development regular top 4 finishes should be a realistic aim.

Liverpool always talk about being a bigger club than the likes of Southampton, Tottenham etc but are they really anymore? All three clubs are feeders, all claim to be 'developing' for the future etc.
