I was pretty sure when we bought Moreno we were getting a future first choice Spanish national team left back....? I agree he hasn't overwhelmed me with his defensive ability but he's been quite good going forwards. With clyne a defensive upgrade on Johnson that might be enough to strengthen the back 4.
I agree imnofreak about Lambert and borini, but I'd keep balotelli as he has the talent required and could probably come good with some regular football with a strike partner alongside.
I'd also be happy to see us let go of Alberto, Aspas, Enrique, Coates, Allen (to eliminate the possibility that BR will play him, and to make space for another signing - possibly an up and comer), Wisdom and i'd think seriously about whether Origi is worth taking at all.

I don't think Balo will ever come good but if we aren't going to get a half decent fee it may be worth keeping or loaning until someone is willing to fork out for him.
Not going to judge Origi until I see any of him in a Liverpool shirt - hopefully he has the mental attributes and is willing to put in.
Alberto, Aspas, Enrique, Coates I'm pretty sure will all go. Wisdom just signed a deal I think? So he's staying.
And I think Allen is a good squad player.

Pr1mo wrote: From a Socceroos perspective, would much rather Ryan spend another season at Brugge than come and be our number 2. Mignolet was good the 2nd half of the season, if we can get a stable pairing in front of him I think he'll be right.
I think Ryan would be established as first choice by the end of September. Mignolet is fantastic making saves on his line, but he still flaps at everything coming into box in the air, and is a major risk at corners in picking the wrong time to come out. Not to mention he looks about as comfortable on the pitch with the ball at his feet as I would if someone threw me into the pitch. It would be a risk for Ryan to come now but it's one I think would see his star rise faster.

Sterling refusing to go on tour (allegedly)
Confirming my opinion of him as a twat.
Can't wait until he's gone.
I love the fact he refused a 65k per week pay rise like 6-7months ago... he's just lost himself like 2mil by refusing to take it
Sucked in. He'll probably get all that and more from his bonuses at City

I know sterling is pretty good but I honestly don't see him in the starting 11 of any club higher than Liverpool. if we get 50m for him we are far from broken hearted...

Thing I will never get, is he got his big offer, was adored by the fans and the team has the potential to go onto better things. Champs league / Fa cup ect... What more could he get from elsewhere other than more oil cash and a fast track to an EPL title (where he may be a bench player anyway)??? Agree that it has gone too sour and $50mil would be a nice compensation.

Like you say, I don't think he would have played 52 games last season for City. Do we have to give any of the transfer fee to QPR? I also read that his deal with his agent is that he gets 50% of any fees that his agent is entitled to from his transfer, which buys you a lot of hippie crack.

And not only that. His reputation is shot to sh1t as well. These days I almost look at city as fourth place anyway. Chelsea and arsenal are both stronger imo, and probably United too.
I don't dislike him, but I do think he is a dumb chump for leaving a good thing to probably a club that I don't see developing him anywhere near as well.

Sterling is over rated. Wouldn't pay 15mil for him. Greedy little shite should rot in the reserves for a year.

I don't dislike him, but I do think he is a dumb chump for leaving a good thing to probably a club that I don't see developing him anywhere near as well. Latest twist - its the manager? Quote:RAHEEM Sterling wants to leave Liverpool because he does not want to play for manager Brendan Rodgers - a notion categorically denied by the club. The sensational claim has been made by English sources Sky Sports, the Guardian and the Mirror, and came after the 20-year-old missed training on Wednesday, but was at the Reds’ Melwood base 24 hours earlier where he attended a 25-minute meeting with Rodgers. It is understood the manager reiterated his desire for the England international to stay at the club, claiming that if Sterling wanted more money, then he was confident that a deal could be reached between the player and the Liverpool hierarchy. However, it is reported Sterling countered that by telling Rodgers that his concerns were not over money or the club itself, but rather that he did not want to play for the manager, something which Liverpool have now refuted. http://www.foxsports.com.au/football/premier-league/raheem-sterling-contract-reds-youngster-happy-to-stay-just-not-under-brendan-rodgers-reports/story-e6frf4a3-1227434702770

Sterling had an average season. Poor finishing, went missing etc etc. If MCFC are willing to pay more than 30 for him (including 50% more because he's english) laugh all the way to the bank.
