Why is every other club linked with Kick arse player transfers but not Perth? What do you think about the FourFourTwo article Perth want Slovenian defender [RUMOUR]? Have your say.

So theyre resigned to getting free agents. I know that the 400k is compensation money for aquiring a player that is still on contract but its still not much money.

Slovenians aren't that bad, they made the WC in 2002 through the toughest confederation in the world. They've had some decent players in the past and in the present like Zlatko Zahovic, Alexandar Knavs, Branko Ilic and Samir Handanovic. And they've currently got players playing in the Seria A, La Liga, Ligue 1 and Bundesliga.
I've never heard of Cipot before. After looking into him, he's 31 years of age, been capped 22 times, he's played in the Middle East for a few seasons and he's currently playing at Luzern in Switzerland.
It would definately be a risk if they go after him, especially after what happened with Dragicevic. IMO, he's not worth it if he's being touted as a marquee but if Perth can lure him for a modest sum and they get some insurance for his position, it could work.

He'd be decent but they shouldnt be wasting their money on defenders espescially if they wanna draw crowds, get a decent striker and they might catch up to the pack.

This isn't the USA buddy. Winning games is what draws crowds here in Aus, take a look at Sydney... Juninho and the LA game couldn't bump the crowd over 13k but once they started winning the crowds went up in no-time. I think Perth have got a decent base for a strike force with Dadi, Ruka and Harnwell... all they need is another quality youth striker. The defense was far too brittle and injury prone last season and they need to fix that up this season, Cipot would help... maybe even Chris Coyne too. But it'll be interesting to see what they do with their midfield. Having sold off Celeski and Bertos and released a large portion of their midfield, they will need to do some quality recruiting this season.

bertos was their best midfielder but they didnt even use him. they also lost colosimo so they do have a gaping hole there.

brining in Chris Coyne will benefit Perth and aus football more than bringing in internationals.maybe Perth can form a dfensive role with his brother there!

To be honest, who gives a rats arse about who goes to Perth, even if they got Rohnaldinhio they would end up contesting the wooden spoon with Wellington, and perhaps Gold Coast

even if perth won games they would probably fail to attract crowds they had a spell of games where they were playing some decent football yet still only 6000-7000 people turned up.

It takes at least a decent half-season to attract the crowds, three good games don't do shit. As I have said in other threads, once Perth hit some genuine good form, the old crowds will come back in an instant.
