Just switched on and it was 3/11.
What a shot at the stumps that was from Trott. Love watching those shots at the stumps which hit one stump.

Lunch day one: 3/92 Watson 50* Hussey 32*
Prepared for a long second session, my 2 favourite batsmen in at the moment. Hoping for triple figures from each.

Katman out for the series, ditto with broad. Watson Hughes Ponting Clarke Hussey Hussey Haddin O'Keefe Harris Siddle Copeland That's what I'd pick for Perth.

Teams here tend to bolster their sides for the t20 given there is the massive lure of the Champions League, and the domestic t20 is televised now too. So naturally, I was over the moon when ND signed Brad Hodge, Herschelle Gibbs, David Warner and David Hussey.

Watson Hughes Ponting Clarke Hussey Hussey Haddin O'Keefe Harris Siddle Copeland
That's what I'd pick for Perth. Agree with having D. Hussey in the side. Doherty hasn't done enough for my liking, so might as well give O'Keefe or Smith a go. Haven't heard/seen too much of Copeland. Not a fan of Hilfenhaus? Really hoping Hughes, the NNSW boy, goes well.

Copelands current FC figures: 9 Matches 66 Wickets 18.15 Average 4 Five Wicket Innings 1 Ten Wicket Match He took 8/92 on debut. Got a lot of McGrath about him. Gotta blood him now. Hilf is ok, but doesn't do enough. He was turd in the first test, and he hasn't gone back to FC and proved any different yet. Dropping someone and picking him isn't going to solve a problem, it's just going to go back to an old one.

Yeah, good point.
But, WOW, they are great figures. Even though it's only early on in his career.

is Katich gone for the series?
disappointed i won't get a chance to absolutely give it to Broad on the fence at Sydney
all pace in perth imo, don't bring Johnson back
Copeland Siddle maybe Harris i wasn't overly impressed though
wouldn't pick Bollinger, still doesn't seem fit to me, i don't think there's alot of point picking Hilfenhaus although i love the bloke
could we convince Shaun Tait to return for one test?

with the news that Katich is out of the series, The Doctor will play chief selector tomorrow at the SCG with NSW 1st innings against South Australia after the Redbacks won the toss today and decided to bat

Tait would be worse than Johnson, and probably wouldn't run out the test. Harris deserves a spot, he was the best bowler for the aussies this match.

i would be picking for perth
Watson Hughes Ponting Khawajja Clarke Hussey Haddin Smith Harris Siddle Bollinger/Hilfenhaus
people are talking of copeland and o'keefe and so on so forth. just because some guys are showing some form now in domestic, dsnt mean they deserve ashes straight away. khawajja was picked from day one and deserve his shot.
hilfenhaus has more experience and its what is needed now and the same goes for bollinger. i might even consider stuart clarke for reselection.

No. What's needed now is some bowlers who can take some wickets because at the moment we don't have an attack capable of getting 10 wickets let alone the 20 we'd need. Hilfenhaus isn't going to get you wickets simple as that and deserved to be dropped.

It's not just showing form now though. Copeland debuted half way through last season, and has carried those stats since then. Ditto O'Keefe. They're no different to Khawaja. I don't know what you mean by picked from day one anyway. Khawaja only came into the first test squad because of the doubts behind Clarke.

We definitely do need to take chances, and Lee has always been a class bowler. Reckon he's still better than a few of our bowlers now. Plus, he's always been my favourite player :p

Lee hasn't played a FC match since June last year. I don't think he could handle it. Would be awesome though.
