Truth - Seether Little Things - Bush (had that one going through my head all day. Love it. Quote:Viva La Vida - Coldplay such an awesome song, cant wait for their new album to come out. It's not bad, but Violet Hill beats the rest of the songs on that album by a long way. Quote:That did sound quality from what i heard on Triple J. I think they've found a good balance between the growly vox and the 'normal' vox and it sounds great. The album is a little too 'typical opeth' in the guitar riffs though.

The trouble with the whole thrash genre is that the difference between what is good and what isn't is enormous, the difference between what people believe is good and what isn't is not so enormous.
These are the days - Jamie Cullum. Starfuckers Inc - NIN. Rammstein - Rammstein.

A quarter of a century sounds old..:p I haven't really been into music at all that lately as music is starting to sound too generic and next time I hear a rap song with a re-hashed beat in the background I'm gonna slit my wrist! Back in high school I listened to the chili peppers, rage against the machine, foo fighters, sound garden, Stone temple pilots, nirvana, metalica, faith no more...I'm sure this list could get longer...(I also went through an Rnb Hip Hop stage and House music in my clubbing days) Today I like Wolfmother, Muse, Artic Monkeys, the killers, gnarles barkley, coldplay..etc..

Quote:I haven't really been into music at all that lately as music is starting to sound too generic and next time I hear a rap song with a re-hashed beat in the background I'm gonna slit my wrist! Couldn't agree more. I died a little when various artists "re-hashed" ray charles songs. And then there's Rogue Traders 'borrowing' the guitar riff of My Shirona. And Alecia Keys borrowed one aswell...can't remember what, but atleast that girl has a set of lungs on her and a little tallent. Quote:Back in high school I listened to the chili peppers, rage against the machine, foo fighters, sound garden, Stone temple pilots, nirvana, metalica, faith no more That looks like a cross-section of some of the stuff I listen to now tbh. Quote:Today I like Wolfmother well...they DO do a mighty fine impression of a band...but that's about as much as I can say about them that's positive. Edited by afromanGT: 2/7/2008 10:41:26 AM

Silhouettic - Birds Of Tokyo Bleeding Throughs new song on their myspace is sweet. Carpathians newies sounds decent live too, was a pity they only played for half an hour.

Recently heard Daysend, awesome for an Aussie metal band. Can't really believe i haven't heard them before, probably prefer them over Soilwork tbh... Much better than Parkway and the like too.

I wouldn't rate them above parkway, but they're definitely one of Australia's best.

mk0825 wrote:Are there any other people into rap? Its so one dimensional in this thread. Hilarious for you to say such a thing when you list songs from a whole TWO "artists", but tbh i really like Bone Thugz. I like rap as im sure ive told you, just not a whole lot of it. Mainly PE and Jurassic 5. Mainstream music has really turned me off rap anyway... Quote:YES! Excellent band. Seen them live twice. I think i just rate them more than Parkway as i really like the more melodic sound to their music. The only Aussie metal i can think of that i prefer is I Killed The Prom Queen. Thats not rap. Its Hip Pop. Sadly, even Snoop has gone down that path. But only on his own albums. When he hooks up with the likes of the DPG, he is still old school gangsta Snoop.

Quote:Are there any other people into rap? Its so one dimensional in this thread. I've got a soft spot for Eminem tbh, and I quite like Cypress Hill, and the Beastie boys. Plus you could probably include RATM as rap. But yeah, all the modern day Rap/ Hip Hop is so just so crap, its not even worth considering.

I named a few songs that im into at the moment nico not my whole damn collection.
I dont listen to todays rap either. I listen to west coast gangsta rap mainly. Eazy-E is the best. I only got into Bone last week. I only listen to their older stuff before bizzy bone left.
I do listen to some rock as well but mainly rap/hip-hop. Soulja Boy is a POP artist IMO.
