They've turned his death into a complete media circus. How his family can tolerate this shit while channel 9 takes in profits is fucking astounding.

He's dead, it was tragic as shit but half the people carrying on 2/3 weeks after the incident and they didnt even know the guy.

The way his funeral was turned into a television 'event' was just wrong, one does have to wonder how much say the family actually had in that.

inb4 annual Phil Hughes Remembrance Trophy becomes bigger than The Ashes.

Have had no media access for 8 days, so it's really upsetting to come back and see that the media is still milking the event. Just ridiculous.

His best friends are out there for the first time since one of their best mates died doing exactly the same thing, knowing he was suppose to be out there. It's only been two weeks. I don't blame them for being emotional at all.

I do agree that the level of coverage on social media is out of hand though. Especially that they keep mentioning Sean Abott. I have no issue with the family requesting the funeral being televised though

I didn't realise they requested it, that's fair enough if so. It just seemed like it was a big rush by the tv networks to cash in on it all.

Pretty much came down to logistical issues. He was a popular kid up here but had pretty much spent his entire adult life in Sydney. I felt pretty uncomfortable with camera focusing on his family though. I'm sure there were plenty of people at the funeral who would have felt uncomfortable being filmed there.

Terrible debacle of a day for India, total disaster. The test is all but lost.

Great batting conditions today, hopefully we get some early poles.

The batsmen did their job so a draw is a chance.

What was up with Kohli there, it's not even like it was a Warner or a Johnson, Rogers is probably the least offensive player in the Australian team :lol:

Sean Abbott having a good day. Currently got 6-9 in Queensland's 2nd innings. Was on a hat-trick just before.

Safe to say Dave Warner is in some decent form. His last 11 innings include 9 scores ofd 50 or higher: 115, 70, 66, 135, 145, 133, 29, 19, 58, 145 & now 50*

Abbott did 6/14.

No way, SA had three bowlers pull out of the match because of the Phil Hughes situation and clearly SA were far from their best in this match. Cowan is a proven failure at test match level and should never play another test.

Cowan's transformed his game and been somewhat of a revelation this season. He's a different player to the one who was dropped from the Australian test side last year. Now that he's shed the mindset of having to play conservatively to be successful on the Bellerive pitch he's scoring much more quickly now. Who were South Australia missing, Richardson, George? Sayers, Mennie, Putland, Botha and Lawford is nothing to be sniffed at in a Shield game. Eddie definitely deserves another chance at some point in the near future.

Zampa, Richardson and Worral pulled out of the side. Doubt all three would have played as Mennie and Sayers would have played anyway. George now plays for Queensland.

Perhaps more relevant is the change in fortune also coincides with Lehmann becoming coach.

So looks like no Clarke for at least the Gabba.

Michael Clarke MUST retire from all forms of international cricket immediately. He has a chronic problem and is highly likely to be injured every time he plays. To choose to play on when he is unlikely to get through a game is extremely selfish.

India doing well, if this partnership continues until tea then anything is possible. Come on boys you can get the runs.

Channel 9 commentators can be so biased. Barely any recognition that India could very well win this test.

People said the same things about Hayden and Langer at one stage. Cowan has definitely improved, and the reality is no other batsmen is putting their hands up for a go.
