yes, i agree with imno. lets leave it as it was. keep the scroll so that new posts appear on top and not the bottom, and also keep the avatars off.

Tonight was pretty frustrating - it seemed like there were heaps of changes made to the interface since I'd last logged on, auto-scrolling was turned off, the text was at the bottom, and user comments seemed to be getting auto-approved - the last time I commentated, I carefully selected which comments to publish and reply to, and it seemed to work well. I couldn't figure out what was going on and trying to figure it out in the middle of trying to commentate was incredibly frustrating and distracting.

So:

a) If you're on the console, keep the settings as they are, and adjust to them as they are - as imno says, the changes affect everyone that uses it.
b) If you're on the console during a game, let the commentator in charge know what you're doing, and don't have them pissfarting around trying to figure out what's going on - it affects the service we're trying to provide.

also, try to limit comments. yes they good, but you dont want them to take up the time and space, otherwise you dont end up commentating.

the comments should not run the console, you should be in charge and make sure we are doing what we meant to be, and thats commentating on the game. i suggest we all watch a BBC matchday one day to get an idea of how we can improve on a few commentary things.

Yep. I didn't approve a single comment that appeared during the console - before I could even look at them, they appeared. I probably would have only included a few of them, because the game was so action packed I didn't really have time, and only a few of them were fit to print regardless.

As far as I can tell, there is no Auto Approve function on the console. So someone was approving those comments.

I agree with what Scouse and Zim have said.
-If you're going to join the main commentator, make sure they know that you're there. Also, work out exactly who is doing what.
-Keep the comments sparse. We don't need every comment published, as has been said, this is about us providing commentary, not having discussions with people. If a comment is thoughtful and adds something, use it. If not, leave it.
-Pay attention to what is said in the comment, and who is saying it. Rude Language, Streams, the usual stuff, is not allowed. Think about it before you approve it.
-If 3/4 good comments come in at once, you dont have to post them all at once. Space them out.
-Don't alter the settings unless you're going to change them back to what is standard. Everyone seems happy with the way things work, so leave it as such.

Fair enough everyone is getting used to things, but most of these things are really simple. Keep up the good work.

im happy to work with the everyone we have, but maybe if Funky as manager of the commentary team feels, someone needs a break or needs a bit more practice, he can do so. its not about being mean or anything.

we are doing this as part of 442. ours and 442s reputation is out there and we need to uphold and respect the privilege KA has given us.

This includes offensive usernames. It's happened twice now.

I agree with all the sentiments above,but tonight someone was approving all those comments.One point though:

I think it would be beneficial to have a support commentator to manage the comments/ scorecard. For example tonight i alerted Ben at the start of the match that i would be able to constantly updating the time, goalscoreres and also the polls. I though it worked really well as Ben was able to do a great job on the game, while i took care of the background info. From now on i think we should leave the comment section to the commentator of the match. That way it makes it easier for the main guy to manage the match as well as some of the insightful comments.

Just gotta get the comments sorted, great job tonight and i look forward to making my debut as commentator for tomorrows match

We can do that on a case by case decision.

For example, I have no problems managing all facets of the commentary, and don't want anybody stepping on my toes whilst doing it. I don't want a co-commentator, but some people who aren't fast typers or with fast computers like myself may want to have one.

i didnt have trouble on my first game. if guys want to sign in and let me know they there in case i need help, then thats fine....we may have a situation where our net goes awol and we need someone to fill in, and if someone else is on, i just alert you and you take over sort of thing.

Sounds good. Good to have people hovering just incase things stuff up or something unexpected happens during a match

Yeah hovering is cool. Just don't touch stuff unless the main commentator says it's cool.

It's a bit un-nerving that comments are appearing with no-one adding the comments, might need to look into it.

Also, we should vote regarding the twitter feed, I want it to go, too much trash being written and the ratio of commentary to 'twitters' is sometimes 1:5.

Some twitter users are good, some are bad. Adam Peacock rarely has game related stuff, though Mckinna does, etc. Might just need some tweaking.

Probably where I'm at - I did appreciate the scorecard updates, but managed perfectly alright on my own the first game - and for me it interrupted the flow of things having someone else there doing things.

That's not to say I wouldn't appreciate if one of you guys were there to offer your opinions on things or pick up any mistakes I may have made in the comments section - I just think the match-day stuff itself is, for me, best left to me if I'm in charge.

I'm the one that is responsible for the smooth running, and if I'm distracted by comments flying in from nowhere and trying to fix it and delete inappropriate comments etc I'm not going to be able to provide the best service - I felt the commentary was affected by this in the first half particularly as I had no fucking idea what was going on and didn't have time to contact anyone about it. Because of all that nonsense I'm glad there was scores being updated etc.

Also, I made polls pre-game for people to vote on - who's going to win etc - when I logged on to post about Leckie's omission - do they disappear when you put it into standby mode again? They seemed to be there right up 'til near kickoff on my end, and I only noticed they were gone when imno pointed it out 15 minutes in or something.

Anyway, I guess this is one of those kinks that will be ironed out with experience. So just for the record, I'd prefer if people didn't help me out with the matchday unless I ask for help. Cheers
