Ok, sorry guys, been out since yesterday, so haven't been able to add in my thoughts till now: -As far as I can tell, you can't add more than the basic emoticons that they have there. So if we use images, it'll have to be through the Media Uploader. -On that, Again, I can't see another way to adding text to it, except changing the caption each time. So what do you guys think? I know most of you usually post 'GOAL' and then another post explaining the play, if we have the image in place of 'GOAL', it looks alright, IMO. Might seem a bit out of place with Cards and such though. So this one is still up in the air I think. -I really like the idea of using the News Flash, so lets come up with a set list of details that we put in there. I'm thinking: Quote:Melbourne v Adelaide Stadium: Etihad Crowd: 16,269 Referee: Ben Williams Goalscorers: Adelaide - Iain Fyfe (2') Victory - Robbie Kruse (22') Victory - Hernandez (68') Something like that will look good. I don't think we can fit Teamlists in there, but are there any other details we should add? Maybe Cards? Let's get this one sorted, so that everyone knows exactly what to put so it all looks uniform. -Also agree with the thinning out of Polls. I reckon: Pre Match - Who do you think will win? Half Time - Who do you think will win? 80 Minute Mark - Who is your MOTM? But once again, open to suggestions, anything you think should be added. Other than that, I think it's looking real good guys. You're all doing great jobs. I'll post up the schedule with commentators tonight.

im good for all the brisbane games funky.
also, has anyone seen how BBC do their matchday commentary. if we could get a setup like theirs for goals, cards, subs etc etc, i think it would work. we dont have to put
eg:
7:00 GOAL!!!
7:01 Lovely play by Mckay to skip past two and slide a through pass to Postecoglou who buries it into the top corner.
but instead we have
eg:
7:00 GOAL!!! Great work from Mckay who........... .... (image)

I do like adding some game-specific polls - CCM/Perth, in addition to the MOTM poll I added a 'bizarro' MOTM poll so people could vote for the worst Perth player...
But I agree with pretty much everything up there. I think that news flash you put up, Funky, is exactly it - add sendings off to it and I think it's perfect. Think we can put yellow cards up with other stats though.

Definitely allow some flexibility with the polls, game specific ones are best, for example Friday night you could have added "Should Surat Sukha been sent off?" during the half time interval.

Yeah, Match Specific polls sound great. Don't have too many, but 1/2 good ones will be fine. Any problems, let me know. Volunteers for the Midweek games are also welcome:p

Sorry Funky, I'll be at work until just before the Perth game - Wednesday's my only day of 'normal' work. So yes, would if I could but I can't. :D
Also, I think DT is doing the Perth-Heart game, isn't he? :S

That's right. I had to go back through the thread and check who was doing tonight, and missed that.
So DT, are you still good for the Perth v Heart match tonight? I'm going to be at Uni all day today, so if he hasn't replied to this by 1pm, can someone PM him?
Also, The early game is now open to anyone that wants it. Just post in here to confirm.

I know you don't want people only doing a half but if we are absolutely desperate, I start work at 7 tonight so can do the first half on Wellington v Brisbane, but fingers crossed buddha or DT can do the first game.

Haven't heard from anyone, so I have started the pre-game coverage. I can do 70 minutes max, but V>H if you can do the second half that would be fantastic.

Cheers V>H and Mizza. Split halfs isn't the worst option, I mean, if you follow Cricinfo, they have 3/4 commentators per match.

Yeah. TBH, I'm not as against 2 Commentators switching over at HT as everyone else is. Would be a good way to train new commentators, and if the situation calls for it, it's hardly un-proffesional or anything.

I am now unable to do this Saturday Night's Victory vs Gold Coast match. That was a mistake on my part.

Simple answer is, When I went to the Foxsports website, their TV schedule only went as far as the saturday night, so the last 4 games I couldn't get the official time. I'll update it shortly with all the roster changes and times.

We can start putting together the official code for all commentators, this is what we have so far:
1) Do not change the settings as they affect us all. Leave the settings as they are. 2) You may be logged in the same time as another commentator, however: i) Make your presence known to the commentator ii) Contribute or make changes only when and where asked to iii) The purpose of a 2nd commentator is to assist if needed or fill in incase of emergencies 3) Always put the event into standby mode and never end the event. 4) Make sure you inform Funky if you have any changes to your availabilities. 5) Make sure you contact details are up to date in case you need to be contacted as a replacement.] 6) Check comments before approving. Don't add it unless it is constructive. Also be sure to check the username of the person commenting 7) Make commentary as informative as possible, for example instead of, 'Culina is fouled', say, 'Culina picks up the ball in the middle, tries to get past Kalmar but is chopped down. Free kick'. Give the reader an indication of the plays. 8) If 2 producers are logged in at the same time, and you notice something major is left out (ie, scoreboard not refreshed, teams not given), give the commentator a friendly reminder via a comment or personal message, don't write it on the console itself. 9) Don't feel obligated to add images, only do it if comfortable, the text itself is the most important part of this service. 10) Add the minutes into the text at maximum 10 minute intervals, even if you pause the commentary and say "20 minutes gone here and it's still scoreless". 11) Goal scorers (with minutes), crowd and cards (with minutes) to be placed on a news flash. 12) If a twitter feed is providing nothing to the commentary, disable it with permission from Funky. 13) In regards to polls and poll information: Tips/Key players etc - In the lead up to the match, and perhaps for the first 5 minutes of the game. Half time poll - First half talking points, potential substitutions, match specific polls etc - Begin on half-time, leave running to around 50 minutes. MOTM poll - Start final 10 minutes of the match, and leave on til conclusion of coverage. The plan would be to have no polls running from 5 mins-45 mins, and then 50 mins-80 mins.
Add more in as you seem fit.

Love you work mate, reads great. On top of this, can I get confirmation from everyone that the know how to:
1)Create a Poll 2)Create a Newsflash 3)Create a Scoreboard 4)Check to see who else is online 5)Send a Personal Message to other Commentators 6)Approve Comments 7)Use Images 8)Close the event into Standby Mode 9)Add Twitters/Turn off Twitters 10)Do a Live edit of the Feed
Basic stuff, but want to make sure everyone is up to date.
