Just observing tonight, Ahmed appeared to not have the news flash items fully covered. So maybe if it would work better if we assigned a specific person who is free to manage the two News Flash pages, the teams one and the Stats one. This may work better as the main commentator would be able to focus on the commentary/scoreboard/comments while the casual commentator would take care of the background elements of the coverage.
What do you guys think?

I'm happy with doing the lot, personally, but if other people are happy to have someone else taking care of that stuff I don't see why they can't take advantage of someone else's boredom/helpfulness :D

i havnt had a problem doing them all before. that moment from the red card, then there was the goals and subs all in one. made it a bit difficult at the time for that 10 min period. if you were not on i woulda figured it out.
having said that, if someone else is on when im on, let me know first. if i need help i will then let you know. i dont see why we cant have one guy update the news flash if necessary especially if the game gets chaotic.

I have no problem with people helping out, but please just notify the commentator! The other when I was doing the first half of the Wellington v Brisbane match, someone kept changing things, it's not as helpful as you may think.
In regards to the twitter, we've had a few comments from users that disabling them would make the coverage a whole lot better. Some twitter feeds are quite informative one match, but the next they are talking absolute smack and it doesn't look great for us.
100% you got to keep Laurie, he talks sense and it's always regarding the current A-League match, he can be an un-official 442 special comments man, welcome to the commentary team Lawrie ;)
For example, behindthegoals did 8 tweets in the first half last night, 3 were related to the Roar vs United match, the rest, god knows what he was on about, but then in the 2nd half he spoke about the match regularly. Is there anyway we can manage the twitter feeds just like the comments? That option would be fantastic.
If we can't, we will just have to monitor the tweets, if one user is repeatedly writing rubbish, just disable it.

If you use the live edit function you could remove the twitter responses that weren't related to the story.

I'm sorry to put a dampener on the weekend, but my game was farked.
Someone was obviously trying to be helpful, but it was quite the opposite, the scoreboard was randomly updating, news flash info changing, polls disappearing, the event even went into standby at one stage and the users couldn't comment.
We have rules for a reason, 1 commentator per game unless the commentator asks for help.
It was frustrating to say the least.

Should we start to nominate back-ups to each match, because people pulling out late really rocks the ship, Funky you have everyone's availability so if there is a couple of people available for a certain match, maybe just add a side-note.

Edited by Funky Munky: 5/11/2010 03:27:33 PM This was the last schedule in the thread, so still need people for mid-week matches. Just keep in mind Funky, zizou said he could do Victory away matches and avy1990 has expressed interest. I know you don't want too many, but it's worth keeping in mind if we are struggling for numbers any given week. While it's also worth mentioning if you can't do a full match that we are struggling to fill, even a half can help so let Funky know.
