It's the only logical solution. God decided to create a super band, and thus Cliff was taken. We are all poorer for it. Mainly because it means the world was introduced to Jason Newsted...

That's also another logical explanation for Cliff's death. He foresaw just how incredibly awesome Metallica would become, and realised that it would destroy mankind. Thus he flipped the bus with the power of his bass.:p

Quote:who distorts their bass and cranks out the wah in 1983?? Pretty sure Eric Clapton was distorting the bass in a session with Cream in the 60's actually. And Wings did it too. And lets not get into Black Sabbath...But yes, Burton was a tops bassist.

I just found that description really funny. I got Ben Folds - Way To Normal today and it's really good.

Saw Parkway Drive/Suicide Silence/A Day To Remember/The Acacia Strain/Confession on friday night.
Confession were alright, just plain hardcore, only caught the last 2 songs of their set.
The Acacia Strain were pretty good, hadn't heard any of their stuff beforehand, but they know how to get a crowd going, and play pretty damn well live. Angry Motherfuckers too.
A Day To Remember were great, was looking forward to seeing them heaps, another band who know how to play live, really got the crowd going. Only disappointing factor was that the singer isn't as good live as he is on cd. Can pull of the clean vocals really well, but his scream isn't as good. TBF to him, he's got a hell of a range to cover though.
Suicide Silence were good, another band I hadn't heard before, but good enough live to keep me interested. Some vicious breakdowns leading to some absolutely hectic moshing, was mad fun.
Parkway Drive were Parkway Drive. Top band, and always a force live. Played a few older tracks which was good to hear, and were just fun all-round. Love the Billboard as a venue too/

Girl Talk - Feed The Animals is an amazing album, it would've been almost impossible to make and it works just as well as one continuous track or in the separate songs, highly recommend it.

NIN sideshow. Stoked. If the support act is any good, that could be an immense show. Don't know what kind of format they're going with yet though. Tickets will sell fast as. Also on the NIN webpage: "Oh yeah - we may have a small holiday gift for you soon. Check back." :-k What's he upto now?
