Bout time they confirmed the venue, but I think they may have lost a fair few ticket sales when NIN announced a sideshow.
I saw an ad for that today and it says "NINE INCH NAILS ... and a very special guest"
who the fuck is "a very special guest"?? Has anybody heard any of their music before?

it should have a lot of room but out at eastern creek its going to take me a while to get there
all the songs off the all-american rejects new album
edit: just re-read the banner and it says there will be special guests :D the soundwave organisers always pull off awesome announcements hopefully when they announce these special guests they are good as well

I thought all soundwave acts had been confirmed and there would be no line-up changes?

If you're talking about the sidewaves, they came advertised with a warning that only the headliners were certain. Just yesterday, one of the bands changed on the New Found Glory sidewave.

WELL.
The weekend of Soundwave in Sydney is the weekend me and the GF are planning to go visit her folks who live up there. In fact, they live in Doonside, about 5 minutes from Eastern Creek. 90% I'm now going to Sydney Soundwave.:D

EDIT: But I spose you're right, something that was announced all of an hour ago, would definitely effect the sales that have been going for 2/3 months now. Edited by Funky Munky: 7/1/2009 09:06:15 PM

It's been talked about for ages that there'd be a different line-up in Sydney.
20,000 ticket sales for a festival including some of the biggest music acts going after three months isn't such a tops return. I'd have expected it to have sold out by now.

Where has this talk been, because I read the Soundwave forums, and there's not a word of it on there that I've seen. That article is almost a month old, and I'd say the Sydney sales have been a bit slow because of the lack of a venue. I severely doubt they'd have sideshows for the main headliner if they though ticket sales weren't doing well.

Woudl they have signed NIN et al to exclusivity contracts? So basically "I can't tell you, because it's insider knowledge". My fucking ass. Get over yourself. I would assume they would have...Why would you let your biggest drawcard book separate shows without your influence, thus damaging ticket sales?

Because you always seem to lay into people when they make a claim and don't back it up with proof. But I spose it's perfectly alright for you to do it aye?

Well all the people I asked about it said they either were going up to the Sydney one or were waiting until they knew what was happening with Sydney.
