I still don't know who to go see out of BMTH and Trivium.
-Both bands released awesome albums last year, but only have average albums before that -Both bands have fairly solid supports, though I'll take Cancer Bats and Red Shore over Heaven Shall Burn and Black Tide. -Checking recent setlists, BMTH having been playing like 90-100% new songs, which is awesome, Triviums been playing a solid mix from all their albums -Prefer BMTH's venue -Trivium will put on an awesome show, but so will BMTH -Trivium may play Master of Puppets. -I've seen Trivium before, but not on their new album. -BMTH is cheaper. -BMTH will probably have a better pit, but more hardcore dancers.
I just don't know...I could go to the BMTH U/18 show, but that would mean a much greater number of hardcore dancers, as shown by this equation;
'HXCD' = A x (FxB)
Where A = Age of Show, F = Fringes per band and B = Number of Breakdowns.

Trivium is the fucking shit man. You are a 'Tallica fan right? :P
More of a personal opinion, but even without the last album I'd pick Trivium. When I saw Trivium a few years ago they were killer. Played Puppets and all. I'd dispute the better pit tbh, especially because of the hardcore dancers.

I have no idea what to do. I love both bands, and albums about the same, this is so fucking shit.

...Touche.
This doesn't solve my problem though. Watching live videos of Trivium didn't help.

NOT COOL!
Watching BMTH live did help though, the guy can't sing for shit. Which is shattering, because I really, really, really would love to hear their new stuff live. But I think Trivium is winning.

Crack The Skye - Mastodon. Can't.Stop.Listening. The whole album is win. Wavering Radiant - Isis. Anytime I'm not listening to Crack The Skye, its this. These two albums are easily my favourites of the year so far.

Nico wrote:That's the one where he goes through all the genres? And he talks to Dio? He talks to a whole bunch of guys, it's a great doco on heavy metal, from a fan's perspective. Well worth watching for anyone who would consider themselves a metal fan.

The Ecstasy of Gold - Metallica. Great song.
He was a man of specific quirks. He believed that all meals should be earned through physical effort. He also contended, zealously like a drunk with a political point, that the third dimension would not be possible if it werent for the existence of water.

Nico wrote:That's the one where he goes through all the genres? And he talks to Dio? He talks to Dio, Iommi, The guys from Mayhem (weird one that interview), Corey Taylor, about 10 seconds to Joey Jordison, Blyth and Morton from LoG, Rob Zombie (who says some funny shit), Kerry King, Tom Morello and that's just off the top of my head. It's really interesting. Was listening to Murderdolls last night too. Quote:Well worth watching for anyone who would consider themselves a metal fan. Even for people who don't, it's an interesting insight. That said, there's a few bits where you go "you can't be serious"...like the fat guy at the start of the Wacken segment with the plastic cup stick to his belly. Or the 13 year old metal chick trying to look and be hardcore and failing.
