Got Youngbloods by The Amity Affliction. Yet to listen properly to all of it but it sounds decent.
Anchors and I Hate Hartley the standouts atm.

You know most people going then? I don't think this is true at all. There'll be a lot of Metallica fans going who have been waiting 6+ years to see them, they'll be the ones making up most of the crowd imo.

I said "a lot", not "all" or "most". Learn to fucking read :roll:

Lennon's Day in the Life lyrics sell for $1.38m

June 20, 2010

NEW YORK: John Lennon's handwritten lyrics to the final song on the Beatles album Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band have been sold to an American collector for $US1.2 million ($1.38 million).

The winning bid for A Day in the Life was placed by phone at Sotheby's auction house, which declined to identify the collector.

The price exceeded the pre-sale estimate of $US500,000 to $US800,000.

The double-sided sheet of paper features Lennon's edits and corrections in black felt marker and blue ballpoint pen, with a few annotations in red ink.

Rolling Stone listed A Day in the Life at No. 26 in its compilation of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time. Sgt Pepper's won four Grammy awards in 1968.

The song, which begins with ''I read the news today, oh boy'', was banned by the BBC when the album was released in 1967 because of the line, ''I'd love to turn you on,'' interpreted as supporting drug use. The song was also left off copies of the album sold in Asia.

Christie's auction rooms in London expect to fetch £30,000 to £50,000 ($51,000 to $85,000) for a self-portrait caricature by Lennon from 1969.

I was more talking specifically in regards to people who had 'only heard enter sendman'. No doubt there'll be a bunch of Old School Metallica fans who are going, who don't follow modern metal.

Not even this - simply not even metal fans. Metallica fans. They aren't really into metal, but like the big bands AC/DC, Metallica, etc. More as afro says, these guys wouldn't be able to name the albums, they just like the big songs. This isn't made up, I know these sorts of people personally. Not that there is anything actually wrong with this of course, just makes LoG seem an odd support band.

Went to see Alestorm tonight, fucking most fun I've ever had at a gig. Fantastic. Got well drunk before hand, made it even better, was so incredibly epic. My Throat is fucked, so many sing a longs. One of my Top 5 gigs, maybe even the best I've been too, everything was just brilliant.

America, Chicago and Peter Frampton latest acts to tour Sydney

* By Kathy McCabe, Music Editor
* From: The Daily Telegraph
* June 21, 2010 12:00AM

THEY have 120 years experience between them, have sold more than 250 million records and will probably still be playing gigs when they are in their 70s.

America, Chicago and Peter Frampton were three acts to command the world's charts in the 1970s and have banded together for an Australian tour which kicks off in Sydney in October.

The tour is timely as many alternative rock acts claim the influence of the '70s soft rock era on their harmony-laden, acoustically-driven albums.

But it also reaffirms the strength of the nostalgia concert dollar with Yusuf Islam performing in Sydney tonight, Leonard Cohen returning in November and Blondie and The Pretenders on a double bill in December.

Two other December musts: Bon Jovi and The Eagles to play gigs

The love of old rockers also extends to our homegrown heroes with Jimmy Barnes and Richard Clapton tipped to perform gigs to celebrate the 10th birthday of music returning to the Annandale Hotel this week.

Which overseas music legend would you like to tour Australia? Tell us below

Frampton, whose hits included Baby I Love Your Way and Show Me The Way, believes the digital age has increased the baby boomer appetite for live music.

"You used to make an album and go on tour to promote it but now with the download situation, you make an album to promote the fact you are going out on tour," he said.

He should know because his solo career breakthrough, after playing with bands such as The Herd and Humble Pie, came with the Frampton Comes Alive record in 1976, one of the biggest selling concert records of the era.

And despite having performed Baby I Love Your Way tens of thousands of times, Frampton still loves the track.

America, Chicago and Peter Frampton perform at the Sydney Entertainment Centre on October 27, Wollongong on October 29 and Hope Estate Valley on November 6.

So I've spent the last few days pumping Deep Blue. Deffinitely up there with Pendulum for best album of the year so far. I don't know if I can seperate them yet. But Deep Blue is a superb step forward for Parkway. It's melodic, the songwriting is more refined, there's less breakdowns (I never thought I'd see this as a good thing, but it suits the album), and the lyrics are still cheesy (Some great lines in there though). I personally reckon it's quite easily alongside Horizons as their best, and might even be beyond that. Standout tracks so far are Deadweight, Karma, Home is for the Heartless, Unrest and Sleepwalker.
