The Bulldogs on their day have the best forward pack in the game imo. Too bad the halves act like complete strangers. Also Morris is coming back soon and the only one i can see getting the flick would be Perrett which is unfortunate but Morris is on too much money to be sitting on the bench

If there were any actual dramas with Taylor and Farah, that solo try should be a nice middle finger lol.
-PB About time he did something in attack, has played like a busted ass the last 18 months. Which is all you need to get into the NSW Origin team ;) -PB

99 Problems wrote:paulbagzFC wrote:What's with Sydney teams and shit crowds?
-PB I'm not sure where to start? There's too many teams. They play out of lifeless stadiums that are way to big and many share the same 'home' ground. Add in The fact there's some pretty shit Sydney teams this year and the NRL have some tough decisions to make on the long term future of clubs (mine included). Id say it has to do with the apathy and sheer laziness of Sydneysiders as well.

Missed the game as I was working. :( Won't be able to find out what actually happened either given how bias the coverage is. Just looking at the stats, the minutes for most of the front rowers seems ridiculously low. Looks like Boyd had a huge game 17 runs for 170 metres. Wow. Cronks ankle looked really bad from the pictures I saw. Where did Walker play when he came on? It wouldn't be Origin without Daley having a sulk about refs after a loss. thejollyvic wrote:as a victorian dont care who wins but i just hope to see a great game. Also anyone from NSW or QLD do people around really get riled up about this game or do most see it as a nuisance on the NRL season? Yea of course people get riled up, people just go nuts in Qld for it. I was at a train station in the CBD yesterday a few hours before the game and you had guys just yelling out Queenslander at the top of their lungs. Although it's obviously the pinnacle of the sport but if you are a die-hard nrl fan of course it's a nuisance. So many seasons (as a Broncos supporter) where we've been in the top couple of teams get to the origin period only to lose half our side (sometimes as high as 12 or 13 players ffs) for a number of weeks. Does lead to the odd awesome moment though, like the Baby Broncos of 2002 against the West Tigers. :d http://www.smh.com.au/articles/2002/06/01/1022569836729.html

Also anyone from NSW or QLD do people around really get riled up about this game or do most see it as a nuisance on the NRL season? Some do get riled up and treat it like the NRL want us to believe it should be treated, but I think most people see it for the nuisance it is. Highest rating (or very nearly) sporting event in Australia would suggest you're speaking for yourself. Drove past a few pubs on the way home and they were heaving with punters. People seeing it as a nuisance doesn't mean they don't watch it. I mean I care very little for it but I'll still watch it mostly because it's entertaining. Most people would rather it be on a stand alone weekend that doesn't fuck clubs over, but unfortunately that will never happen. It being popular doesn't mean it's not a joke that a sport completely derails it's premier competition right in the middle of the season for a 3 game series. The thing about origin is it brings a higher level standard of the game, best vs the best, like an all star game, but with blood and tears on the line which makes it a unique experience (as opposed to an nba all star game). It breaks the monotony of club vs club for 20 odd weeks Except it doesn't. People like to act as if it's the best game of the season, but I'd rather see the Broncos v Cowboys over Origin. Isn't Broncos v Cowboys kinda like NSW's City v Country? Supposed to be happening next year. At least one game from memory. Either game 2 or 3

NSW moreso being garbage as they couldn't beat an absolute shithouse QLD team.
One pass play out of the ruck FUCKING constantly.
Kinda shit that makes you wanna punch a wall or a midget in frustration.
Fucking why did we even pick Oates if we're going to give him the ball like 3-4 times ffs.
-PB I said it to someone last night but it didn't feel like Origin, just felt like a bog standard NRL game between two teams fighting for 10th and 11th place. Game 1 can always turn into that. Both teams know how important it is to win it if they want to win the series so go out not to lose instead of trying to win. I expect the next one to be very different.

-PB I said it to someone last night but it didn't feel like Origin, just felt like a bog standard NRL game between two teams fighting for 10th and 11th place. Agreed. And for a lot of the media to say NSW were poor; I thought the opposite. They at least looked like running play down to the wings almost every play even come the 70th minute whereas QLD were doing one pass out of dummy half and that was it. The difference in metres gained in sets was diabolical, that and QLD kicking on 3rd/4th tackle when we're 10m off the line ffs. Don't even get me started on Thaiday taking that kick lol (or Cameron Smith in general, his kicks were atrocious compared to the long bombs that Adam Reynolds was putting in). And why has nobody in the NRL learnt to take a drop kick yet ffs? -PB

I'm dumbfounded as to why NSW even picked Dylan walker to play 10 minutes....especially when QLD were down to 16 men. Daley has got to cop some flak for that
