Well, there are a few reasons why it could have a sub forum.

It may not be a big tournament, but we in Australia will most likely be into it. It actually involves our team.
If everything is posted in AF I guess it'll be too much to handle. AF already has a very large amount of threads and posts.

But, on the other hand, it'll attract most of the idiots from AF, and will probably turn out to be an idiotfest

Not big enough to warrant a sub-forum, there is little interest about the other Asians teams so the discussion will mostly be about Australia which can be handled in AF.

I agree, an Asian Cup sub forum would be good. And RTB, the number of 'idiots' should have no bearing on whether there is a Asian Cup sub forum or not.

If we win gooner will it be big enough. Even if we dont win it is the ASIAN championships ffs. There are already many topics covered and a lot of interest shown. Should have its own forum.

Nobody is going to want to talk about Thailand's team. Nobody can even name a player from Qatar. There's not much to talk about outside of Japan, SoKo and Australia. And what little there is, nobody will know in depth about enough to comment on.

Yeah exactly, it's only the Asian Championship ffs, outside of the fact Australia are participating, it has no where near enough interest to warrant it's own sub-forum, and if we win, what difference does that make? The discussion will still be all about Australia and there fore can be handled in AF.

I don't think it's big enough, the only thing it has going for it is the fact that we are participating, if Australia exit early then there will be little to no interest into what is going in.

Honestly you guys need to pull your head out of the sand and maybe try and educate yourselves a little about the other teams competing. If its only the Asian Campionships, why is the FFA trying to obtain the hosting rights for 2015? Cause its only little piss weak competition that no one cares about?

We're not saying that it's a piss weak tournament, and we're not uninformed about Asian football either. Does a tournaments like the African Cup of Nations for example warrant a sub-forum? No, if Australia weren't participating in the Asian Cup, the tournament would probably have just as much signifigance to the majority of the forumers on here as a tournament like say the ACON or other continental championships (Apart from probably the Euros) which isn't much, I don't remember the ACON or even the Euros(?) having a sub-forum.

Exactly, the Euros didn't have a sub-forum. And I hardly think that the number of television viewers across asia is relevant on an Australian internet medium.

And while you may have looked up a Qatari player, spathi, most don't know any and can't comment on their ability having never actually seen any of said players take to the pitch before.


There may well be 2b + possible television viewers, but more likely there will be a couple of hundred million max.

Need a sub forum like the 2010 World Cup. Since the HAL is runnign concurently - AF is going to get messy.

Joffa does not represent the good folks at FFT and as a result isn't in a position to make such promises.

If a subforum hasn't been created yet, it won't now. TWG told me himself (well the program that he is emailed me and I had windows text-to-speech read it for me :lol:) that they won't be creating a subforum.
There aren't enough articles on the other games to warrant it.
