GluteForce wrote:Semantics! Point is, I like that kind of music :) I can gather that I'll be the minority in this thread I don't mind it. Really cool vibe. Not something I can listen to often though. I very much have to be in the mood for Ambient/Minimalist kind of stuff, and even then, prefer it to be a lot darker and heavier. Generally prefer my music to have a lot more energy and charge to it. Can see where that's coming from though, not bad at all.

STYG - Diamond UABB - Red.White.Green LoG - Resolution ES - A Flash Flood of Colour Those are the 4 I've mainly listened to, Still need to listen to the new Attack Attack!, 3 Inches, High on Fire and Lacuna Coil.

Cancer Bats never really grabbed me except for one or two songs.
Either way, Gojira will be album of the year, just got wait for it to drop.

Never really got into Gojira. Not sure why, all the ingredients are there to be something I like...but it just doesn't click.

AFFOC was definitely a grower, but it's not album of the year for mine.

Just listened to Caliban's newey, actually a really good album. They were also very stock standard Core by numbers, basically trying to rip off KsE every song, but this album has a heap of sick riffs and really strong breakdowns. But still some good melody and Hooks. Will have to work my way back through their discog, never gave them much credit. Covers on the 2nd Disc are pretty sick too.

It's lyrically superior and the electronics seem to fit more. Don't get me wrong, Common Dreads is an awesome album, not a bad song on it, but I just prefer A Flash Flood Of Colour.

From a sonic perspective it's inferior, from a lyrical perspective it's too preach-y, it's not as heavy or driven as Common Dreads either.

In my eyes Linkin Park have been on permanent hiatus since Meteora haha. Hybrid theory and meteora were so awesome, its sad to think of what they are to what they could have been but its the path they chose.

The thing that gets me is that it's basically become a pansy version of Julien-K. Yeah, the single is 'Burn it down'...was expecting something heavy. Was disappoint. Architects: OMG FAP!

The depressing thing aboutLinkin Park is even in Minutes to Midnight, they had some good songs and one epicly heavy as fuck one. And then New Divide, a one-off song, whilst not heavy, was still a good rock song. If they had taken that path, I wouldn't mind as much. Bt instead, I'd hesitate to even call them a rock band anymore.
