Man I stumbled across the like 2 years ago, back when myspace was still a thing. They had only released 3 songs at the time and they pretty much just toured the country even Europe for a year and a half before they got signed to riserecords last year and released their album that came out a month or so ago. I remember seeing them live at the Evelyn before they got signed and not being able to comprehend how they hadnt been signed or released an album.

The King Blues released Modern Life Has Let Me Down as a free single.

So sad to see them split, they were such a good band; the leaders of protest music in the UK. Huge loss.

Their new (and last) album comes out July 2nd.

Can already say this has changed. UABB has climbed to top, and Caliban would probably slot in between LoG and Diamond. Two astonishingly good albums. UABB in particular. Just everything that good Death/Metalcore should be. Brutal Riffs and Vocals, Slamming Breakdowns, and just a bundle of fucking fun. Love it.

I gave this a spin, there was nothing remarkable about it at all. Solid lead guitar, tight performance. That's about it.

Not surprised, not an easy genre for people to get. If you don't get it, you don't get it.

in other news, the Smashing Pumpkins (AKA billy Corgan with two other guys and a really hot bass player) are headed here in June. They're playing Melbourne, Sydney and Perth. Luckily, they're playing Challenge Stadium this time, much better choice than at the Riverside, where they played when i saw them. Best mate is pretty keen to go, if tickets are around $70 I will probably go. Hopefully Billy won't be a jerk and play Zero, 1979, disarm this time.

Unless its someone like Fiona Apple, I really cant get into chick singers. Gazoonga Attack were a good live show, but most female singers of harder music just dont convey as much emotion. Or something like that anyway.....
