i have word from "insider knowledge" that GVE is confirmed to be leaving the jerks at the end of the season. the club made the move happen, but are going to allow him to save face & say he's leaving for greener pastures - plus they saw no point in pushing him away so close to the end of the season. apparently the player group are aware this is happening.
no link-able source, but it was the same source who got me onto the news of jobe leaving & rubez re-signing as captain, so take from it what you will.

6 from ten coaches wow. This more than ever shows the need for the npl to develop coaches. They must and I mean must make it a goal that every npl coach has a pro league liscence within a few years

So who'll be in more pressure now? Mulvey or Aloisi?

I am sure I am adding two and two and making five, but if the GVE rumour is true, it makes sense that Kewell could be coming in as co-coach with his good mate Michael Bridges.

Back to the AIS? I think the appointment of our next coach will show how serious HSG are. If we simply appoint a Kosmina or a Herbert or (insert previous A league coach here) it will show that HSG and Tinkler are muppets (as they were for appointing GVE). It would be nice to see them appoint someone who can implement some sort of philosophy from top to bottom and who can be here for a long time to come.

Isn't part HSG's philosophy to appoint local people where possible?

I like hsg's philosophy but perhaps the coach should be an exception

Joffa wrote:Never rated him anyway, it will be interesting to see who takes over +1. Some of his signings, especially overseas players have been nothing short of bizzare. Mind you, in saying that, Frank Farina seems to see something in Tiago that nobody else really does. :-k
WOLLONGONG WOLVES FOR A-LEAGUE EXPANSION!

I think mentally and physically we'd become a stronger team but not sure he'd have the technical nous, maybe a good assistant could help. I mainly want a manager who doesn't waste money on shit imports

Advocate1 wrote:Mark Jones maybe? jonesy isn't the answer. although i've watched him play my whole life, although he's one of the biggest names to play for the state league team i spent 5 years at, although i've been coached by him, and although i like him as a coach personally - he'd get way too many people offside and i can't see him handling the head coach job of an a-league club well at all.

When u say getting people offside you mean players, clubmen or the fans?

Sure we were missing players and what not but it seemed as if he just didn't worry about tactics and said 'go out their and try kiddies'.
