So on the https://twitter.com/SocStoppageTime radio show they confirmed Matt Simon back to the Mariners, and not to the Wanderers as many predicted.

Bojic supposedly sealed to Sydney FC
Matt Simon confirmed for Mariners
Rumours Leckie to Wanderers.
Tarek left for game time.
Negotiations ongoing with a striker for the Wanderers, no details.

Wasn't it confirmed weeks ago he's leaving for Parma?

They said it wasn't finalised until a couple days ago.

:shock: :shock: Would like him to stay in Germany, but it would be great for the league and would make WSW lethal in attack.

And Bojic would be a good pick up for Sydney, atleast they are finally linked with a top quality A league player instead of the scraps.

pedj is always going to be unhappy wherever he is. He also doesn't fit into the coasts no dickhead policy

I've heard the rumour - it's non-football related. A lot of his business interests lie in Sydney so it does make sense in that regard. I suspect the club is currently looking for a replacement before releasing him.

Yeah he's a physio or personal trainer in Western Sydney, one of the reasons I thought the Wanderers might pick him up for their debut season.

Also it will be great to have Matt Simons back at the mariners. Wonder what that means for mcbreen?

Pedj does personal training for some very high profile people. Some Hollywood actors have worked with him before (not sure if he flew there or they came to them). It'd make sense for him to be in a major city.

I've heard that the Mariners have turned him down. That may change depending on Ibini's O/S trials, but it doesn't make sense for them to have:

Nothing - he re-signed for a year today. If Simon comes he would likely to be a replacement for Ibini if he goes.

All except McDonald got decent game time this year (Ibini rather than Simon). Throw in a couple of injuries and NT commitments for Wee-Mac and it doesn't seem over the top. I would even expect them to have another 18 year old in the squad as well - given that McBreen and Sterj are likely going into their last season.

Simon has a house around Gosford, would make sense.

I'd take Pellegrino back at Perth, but McDonald and Griffiths will probably fall off the radar.

We've still got Griffiths, who's a left-footed CB but he's not really a starter at this stage. If all those guys left, we could still field:

I'm undecided about Morton at this stage, but I'd hope we sign a decent replacement for Pedj if he were to leave so we have competition for that RB spot.

Simon is a better striker I agree, but Ibini lost his spot up front and finished the season as a right midfielder, that's hardly a position Matty Smon is useful in.

Damn that's a shaky back line. I'm sure Arnie will be on the phone to a few mates trying to pull someone in. Someone like Mark Hughes or Paddy Kisnorbo you'd think.

When is wilko off contract in Korea? 18 months?

Pretty sure Kwassie has retired. Pedj on the Code looked like he had a pretty swish place in Sydney.

Well the Mariners are trying to cut costs, he lives in Sydney and half his teammates are leaving, so next season will be a fresh start for CCM. It's a possibility!

Back to Australia apparently, twitter reporting he's off to Victory. The Wanderers didn't want to pay what Simon was asking and the Mariners couldn't afford it anyway. Had no idea Victory wanted him.

While Ryan and Ibini are likely to leave - Sainsbury leaving is still very much up in the air.

I would expect the backline to be

Rose--Anderson-Sainsbury--Bojic

If either or both of Sainsbury or Bojic go an experienced CB will be recruited and possibly another RB. So if both left the worst it will be is:-

Rose--Anderson-experienced CB---Morton

From the rumours I hear someone is lined up (no - I don't know who) but it depends on what Trent decides. Of course if it takes too long the person lined up will have to secure their own future.

Apparently to be announced tomorrow. Simon was spotted in Terrigal 3 or 4 weeks ago and supposedly was really quite worried about his future, a lot of his time OS he has been injured. That was the reason the Mariners initially knocked him back.

I suppose we will see tomorrow - or not!

If he's going to victory then that means Ange is completely changing his system and having Simon means he wants a harasser in the front third (like berisha) surprising considering how well the counter attacking football is doing in the wider football sphere. :-k

I honestly think he'd be an ok signing, so many games this season when the 'walk the ball into the goals' didn't work, a decent target man really would've come in handy.

If he truly is in shit form or whatever then maybe he can earn his place like everyone else? If the false 9 doesn't work one match, scrap it and bring him in.

Bojic to Sydney makes sense, we've been after him for 12 months. That would mean Ryall moving back inside to CB to partner Boschaart. I'd be OK with that.

McGrath to WSW makes sense - the kid has hardly been playing in Denmark and needs to relaunch his career. I believe he's from there anyway. Can definitely see it happening.
