I seriously don't get the fascination with them. Apart from the Pikachu ones. They're awesome.

Beyblades, Yu-Gi Oh cards (Still have my deck, ended up playing my brother recently ), Digimon handheld devices (still remember being upset when I forgot to feed mine and he died :() were massive back in the day.

Anyone remember Tazos as well? Had tons of Simpsons ones. And those Dragon Ball Z discs that came in chips packets? They were awesome.

But obviously the biggest craze of them all were pogs.

My year 6 principal had to ban Pokemon cards iirc, because of too many people stealing and scamming people with them. The guy was a drama queen about it as well (I think he was a little suss tbh) by calling a whole school assembly and giving some speech about how executioners had to wear a black hat or some shit, he had a black hankie over his head during it. Was fucking weird.

Our school banned anything tradeable or popular at some point. First it was Tazos/Pogs, then it was Pokemon cards, then Tamagotchi/digimon.

Then crazy bones, then beyblades, then marbles because everyone carving tracks in the sandstone in the playground.

It all started with the Simpsons trading card for me, the ones with the bubble gum that took two hours to get into a gum like state and tasted like strawberry flavoured cardboard.

then B'Ball cards. USA Dream team <3

I was pretty apt with a yo-yo, I could walk the dog, do a cat's cradle, Eiffel Tower, around the world and a few others.

Got into the yo-ho Diablo and fire sticks, but that's what you did where I grew up.

after that I found girls. Haven't needed a fad to fill in my days since.

though I am partial to the World cup Sticker sets, I don't consider that a Fad though.

NBA cards, USA 94 cards, NFL cards (go Jerry Rice!), turtles (so glad they're back), terminator and voltron. Oh and do they still make matchbox cars? Hotwheels were always so second-rate.

I thought this thread was going to be about the candy cigarettes that used to be called Fags

In primary school we had (in roughly chronological order) marbles, nba cards, pogs/tazos, oddbodz and baseball caps with the brim curved as much as possible.
