Best performance for me was Rooney against Celtic in 08. Never seen a guy run the show like that before.

If I rank performances I've seen live that stand out (and were not in the HAL), the best I can recall are:
Demy de Zeeuw in that Netherlands vs Socceroos game a few years ago. Michael Thwaite in the 7-0 win vs Soloman Islands in Sydney in 2006 WC Qualifier. Aaron Mooy in an Olyroos game in Newcastle a couple of years ago (forget who they played, Hoffman scored one or two)

It was between Ponting and Waugh for me, and I felt Waugh fit better in terms of batting order. I honestly forgot about Punter. Its a hard choice between him and Waugh.

By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

Hard to compete with Thupercoach's team Impossible to pick a team from Argentina(2007),Spain(2010),Brazil(1999,2006,2010), England(2010,1992),France(2001,1992),Holland,Italy(2006),Germany(2010),Man Utd(1999)and plenty of others Zidane and Messi lead the way.

Damn, I need to get out more... Last international I went to was Australia vs Brazil at Stadium Australia in 1999(?). I remember being bummed when Bosnich was subbed and they brought on this Schwarzer fellow, heh. Can't find the squad list for that though...

Matthew Hayden Graeme Smith Brian Lara Sachin Tendulkar Steve Waugh Jacques Kallis Kumar Sangakkara Shaun Pollock Shane Warne Muttiah Muralitharan Glenn McGrath
EDIT: Forgot I saw the World XI play.
Edited by Funky Munky: 26/7/2013 06:48:28 PM Hayden Cook Ponting Tendulkar Lara Kallis Gilchrist Warne Steyn Akhtar (the most terifying spell of bowling I will ever see) McGrath I hope those who left out Ponting never saw him in the flesh. Best footballer I've seen would be Andrew Johns. I was at his last SOO game at Suncorp and he controlled a sporting field like no one I have ever seen, or will probably see in my lifetime. He had 50,000 people screaming for his blood and he thrived on it. My football team would look pretty weak and would only consist of Socceroo/A-League players
