True story......

My flight to the UK at the end of 2010, one week before Christmas, was diverted mid-flight to Cyprus on the way to Heathrow (remember when Heathrow froze over a few years ago?)

I spent one glorious 24 hour period in Larnaca under beautiful sunshine sipping the best coffee I've ever had. Wondering all the time, why the hell they closed Heathrow given the weather was so magnificent in Cyprus at the time.

However, the place was dead quiet (in a good way). There must've been like ten people in the whole place I was staying in.

Lovely place. Spent a very productive fortnight on the island. Sights were good, and the women quality.

Why should I trust a guy who magically killed a fig tree out of spite for not bearing figs just for him even though it was out of season (while nobody was around, mind you) on any matter relating to fruit?

LOL safest country when it's barely in the middle east but don't mention that their financial sector (which was the main source of foreign investment) is now completely up shit creek with the ratings agency handing out a junk credit rating, or that they still need a UN run demilitarised buffer zone to stop the greeks and the turks from killing each other.

Cyprus is a few years from turning into a shithole, but don't let that stop your anti middle east crusade.
