Sounds amazing. Don't have the land to raise animals in suburban Adelaide so I bought my roast from Costco :P

Yep making them myself, packet ones have no flavour and are tough in my opinion. The sauce is from a large batch I froze months ago with oxtail so making the gnocchi is pretty much the only bit of work I need to do today.

Shellfish are ok and so are a lot of other fish in moderation. Have to say though, second time around we're much more relaxed in general about these sorts of things :)

i am doing my home made porchetta, slaughtered 8 pigs a couple of weeks ago, made 4 spit roasters, and broke 4 up, made 15 kilos of old english sausages and german bratwurst, they are yummy, then i made 4 porchettas and 4 leg roasts...

making you own gnocchi or packet bought??? what sauce with the gnocchi?? sounds good....

don't you have to watch seafood with pregnant ladies these days???

Grazie! Making gnocchi for an entree and have a pork roast ready to be thrown in the oven. Made chili blue swimmer crabs for dinner tonight. The wife is very pregnant at the moment so I'm doing it mostly solo. Shouldn't be too bad I hope :)

A good portion of my extended family are leaving on a cruise the day after Christmas so we already did the family thing last Saturday. Means tomorrow will be pretty chilled with wife and daughter, apart from some quick visits to the grandparents.

A extended family get together . Hoping to try to keeep our grandfather happy as we lost our grandmother two years ago two weeks before xmas .

My wife and I got stressed splitting the time between both fams on the day we worked out that many from my wife's side were happy to have Xmas eve dinner so as can enjoy the next with inlaws either ither but importantly can spend more time with both sides without having to split the day - has worked a treat for years !

Bat - know what you mean on the crissy prep before hand, we have had my wifes clan more times than not, lots of work cooking cleaning etcetc yes I don't mind but as you mention nice to have a break from it all, going to brother inlaws is a welcome relief this season :)
