I thought I'd post a few videos of the mercurial Brian Clough. Some reading this know I'm not a fan of the current English FA coaching system. However, Clough as a motivator and Taylor as a talent spotter didn't need any coaching courses, because at what they did best, there has probably been nobody anywhere in the world as good.

If Cloughie had left the bottle alone, and stayed with Taylor longer, they would probably have won more titles with far less resources than anyone else.

They won the EPL, or First Division titles with Notts Forest and Derby County. These clubs had small budgets and had no success before or after Clough and Clough/Taylor coached them. Clough tried to sign Aussie Craig Johnston. He should've gone there instead of Liverpool.

Clough /Taylor also won two successive European (now known as UEFA Champs League) titles in a row. They beat all the big and rich German, Spanish, Italian and English clubs.

I'm going to post a few videos of one of the greatest coaches of fall time. The English FA idiotically overlooked him for the English national team job.](*,)

Roy Keane is known as a vindictive, nasty hard man in football.

However, he was reduced to tears by Brian Clough punching him in the stomach early in his career.

A man so pig headed that when he tore his ACL and was told that his career was over (that was the way it was back then), told the medical staff that they couldn't tell him when to retire, and spent 15 months working his way back to fitness... Then won back his first team place, then played 4 games in the 1st Division (in agony with every kick of the ball), until he scored a goal and proved his case... Then promptly retired.

The English FA weren't the only ones. Not long after winning the European Cup with Nottingham Forest (for a second time), he was sounded out for the Sunderland job - but the chairman decided he would be too much trouble and hired Alan Durban instead. Clough's later quote, "I would have crawled up the M1 on my hands and knees over broken glass to be manager of Sunderland" has never been far from Sunderland supporters minds.
