Manno might be the Manningham over Bulleen way or the Manhattan in Ringwood that had a revolving dance floor. The Middle in Ferntree Gully way was also a good spot out east. 💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻

Always remember seeing Powderfinger and Jebediah double for $10 at Broadbeach Tavern on the Gold Coast.
Double Allergic had just come out and JJJ was starting to rotate pick you up heavily - awsome night - $2 rum or bourbons happy hour.

Now days Hardrock cafe in sufers usually have gigs but $30 entry and drink and food is astronomical.
Expensive night for some local talent..... :(

Blaxland Tavern late 90's Tumbleweed, Rocket Science Regurgitator you am I 28 Days. It was the venue for live music in the blue Mountains.
The aircon that was broke, the smoke cloud that sat at bar height, the stage that was a foot higher than the floor. $2 house beer and spirits from 8pm to 12 am.
It was a shame when they lost their live music licence. Was never the same after that.

Pubs were awesum back then and damn it was affordable.

Indeed, I was raised on a diet of great Aussie pub rock, and I have seen many of the great Aussie bands you have listed above, and they were all fantastic live, especially Midnight Oil, The Radiators and Rose Tattoo, and the Angels as well (RIP Doc Neeson).

Although the live pub rock scene is not what it was say back in the 1980's, some of the above bands are still playing, however the current generation of kids are more into this "DOOF, DOOF" dance music crap.

They've died in the arse now but saw Joe Camilleri and the Black Sorrows at some dive in Kings Cross way back in the day for a $2 cover charge.

Saw Painters and Dockers at Johnos Blues Bar (gone now) in Cairns for about $5. About 20 people all up in the bar but they were fantastic.

Saw farking Ratcat at the Rivcol in Wagga for either free or very nearly free. Ratcat! There's a blast from the past.

At the breaking of the dry concert I saw, on the same bill, the Radiators, Midnight Oil, Croweded House and Hunters and Collectors in Townsville.

Saw the Hoodoo Gurus out the back of the Darwin Casino for about $15 and Paul Kelly at the NT Uni for free.

Those were the days.

Shit you've brought back some memories.

Great thread.

Aussie rock was so accessible. Down at the local after work, maybe on Friday nights. You could literally talk to Bon or Angus, have a yarn to Angry, Jimmy or Mossy, try to sing Fall of Rome with Aussie Crawl. Those were the days.
