Ive been thinking with the struggles on Arzani and perhaps McGree there is clearly an issue with the next batch of players
I wonder who is Australia's best young talent or next great hope for the national team if it isn't them?

Is there something else that ready to take that mantle from them?

Or are we happy to take the Scot in Souttar as the main hope?

Im going with u23 level players and below that.

Thoughts?

McGree

He hasn’t played much in the Championship yet but one of his competition left which will hopefully give him some game time.

I think he’ll eventually be good enough to be playing Premier League in a few years.

Edit: I think he is the best U23 player right now but I think Mohamed Toure has the biggest ceiling out of any young Australian player.

Carl Veart has spoken very highly of James Delianov so hopefully he’ll give Matt some serious competition in a few years.

I like Piscopo

Hrustic is 24 I think but a serious contender for me. 

In terms of a young talent he's more of a senior play at that age.

If he doesn’t play for the poms, Alex Robertson. Also Dylan Ruiz-Diaz maybe

Ruiz-Diaz... Where is that guy, I thought he was a Mariner?

Anyway, this season there is tons of Talent, they will all have good and bad games. I probably get the most interested when Toure comes on though. Really hoping he can start scoring this season.

Ruiz-Diaz still at CCM but no Senior match time yet this season? Scored a double last year against Victory though. Looks the goods with his speed and finishing imo

He's a free agent atm.

Surely if they wanted him, he'd still be there.

He may be on his way back to Australia. He was trialing in the Ukraine but has left there.  I expect we may see him at Balzan or back at CCM

Gonna have to go with Keanu baccus He’s started very young believe debut when he was 18 or 19 
he’s one of the older young boys in league at 22 but he’s got talent he’ll be in Europe after two seasons I reckon 
was impressed by aquilina tho he’s fit and quick got decent ball control and looks threatening on the wing

Souttar for sure, is he locked in? Can he still swap? Scotland will throw everything at him the way he's going.

If he changed he'd have to wait almost two years to play for Scotland. We only need to cap him one more time to lock him in now that he's 22.

Not sure about best young talent, but best young keeper would be Delianov..big fan of his.

Seems to be some good keepers coming through Glover at City.

Can be a break out season for Tate Russell at the Wanderers.

I think Connor Metcalf will end up the best of the lot.

I hate to hype young players but always intrigued in players that offer something different from the rest in terms of their profile as players.

Najjarine, Tilio and Hollman 3 players to keep an eye on in terms of technique, level of creativity and personality in their play.

The former has really shown through in recent games, whilst the other two have got potential to do the same at their other clubs.

We haven't had a creative talent break through since Arzani in recent times and famously Rogic so ill keep an eye on these players and for anyone else that has an interesting skill set.

We dont develop these type x-factor players as I call them as often the clubs look to get an foreign player in those positions instead.

Players like Antonis, Kantarovski among others lead to way too much disappointment.

Is Mabil still young? Ikon did the hard yards and we saw it in action only for tragedy to strike. We're definitely a little cursed regarding injuries.

Its good to go back to this thread again, I wonder who has made the biggest impression this season.

Who would be No.1 if there was a power ranking? Mine would be Connor Metcalfe, he hasn't put a foot wrong this season.

Metcalfe gets my vote too. Obviously a very late developer as evidenced by the socceroos photos next to genreau recently. Point being he is still probably got a lot of growth development and improvement in him. Rather than like some of the others, who have possible reached their peak. 

I think Riley mcgree can be the X factor for the socceroos in the next decade. Hopefully he stays in the championship 

Yeah I can see McGree, Hrustic, Piscopo, Metcalfe & Irvine forming a combo over the next 5 to 10 yrs, taking over from Mooy as our main play maker's. Just need to find a consistent Striker  

Demi Juric is 23, is that still considered young? He’s scored a number of goals in Europe and is in the conversation for a move to the league leaders. If he keeps it up he could be anywhere in 3 years time. If he moves to a top Croatian team and still scores then Serie A or Bundesliga aren’t out of the question.

Adrian Segecic (2004), who I mentioned as one of Australia’s best young talents, has been promoted to Sydney FC’s squad for their semi final vs Adelaide. This is the first time he’s been in their senior squad. He’s been the NPL side’s best player this season, despite being 16/17
