+xDo people here know much about our women's development pathways? Do NPL clubs have womens teams? Do A league clubs have npl clubs like the men's? Can we get a womens fa coe in canberra up again? What are some low hanging fruit we can improve? NPL clubs do have womens teams. Unfortunately, a lot of the teams can't really afford to pay that well, so a lot of the teams struggle with keeping talent. The teams that can afford the talent tend to hoard it. There is also a lack of depth. I know of a club up here in QLD in the NPL that is desperate for players. They have a player who has talent, but the wrong mindset, so they don't really push themselves to be better but they can't drop them for an alternative. We also have a mentality issue with some players who think they should be a starter creating hissy fits when they don't get picked. The other issue is the coaching pathways. It's so hard to get into a coaching pathway even at a C Level unless you are aligned with the club willing to cover your costs, not to mention that the FA is incredibly harsh and scrutinises every little thing, that you don't actually come out of it feeling positive. The commitment too to coaching at an NPL level can be quite arduous that for people with families, it's not really worth the little you get paid. I was offered by one club $2000 for a full season. 3 trainings a week in the evening and game on the weekend.
