Jeffers, 29, is a free agent after being released by Sheffield Wednesday and hoped to prove he could still play in the Premier League. However, a deal did not materialise and he has signed for Gold Coast United. The Seasiders had been interested in former England keeper Richard Wright, but he is heading for the US to play for San Jose Earthquakes.
