Meh, either way i dont think they'll join the comp at least till 2010/2011. even then, the commitee down there said there trying to get a new Wollengong team going, and leaving the Wolves in NSW Telechoice Premier League

That may be the case, but as far as I know, the old structure from the NSL is what exists now. My point is that if they want into the A-Leauge sooner rather than later, it's infrastructure that's in place now that will be utilised.
They can wait for a fresh team, but it's just going to take longer.

well the wolves are now known as wollongong fc.. and they would not be the team joining from wollongong.. as the current bidders are under the name great southern football.

I think most football supporters in wollongong are over the wolves as such anyway and want a fresh team/ committee

I don't see why it can't happen. The Wolves already have the infrastructure there and WIN Stadium ready to go. They could still be the Wolves too, Perth kept the same name as the old NSL team, so why can't Wollongong?

I don't see why NBN or WIN would be a financial backer, why would a free to air TV station back a team they can't show on TV?

Can the name change . . . . just reminds me of the old crappy NSL thug comp

They approached FFA about 18 months ago, I remember Chippers said he'd quit his current club to join them but they went quiet.
Other reports have NBN as a finacial backer and Wollongong Wolves as the franchisee so although its a rush job I don't see a problem for them getting there seeing as Wellington did it and did'nt have a pre established club to help.
