Good to see St Albans Dinamo back in the top flight. One of the unsung clubs in Australian football producing many players for Melbourne Knights that went onto the national team jersey.

What do you think about the FourFourTwo article VPL Round One Wrap?
SPRINGVALE White Eagles made a horror start to their top flight campaign, conceding seven goals in two games and slumping to the bottom of the Alanic Victorian Premier League table at the end of round one.

Have your say.

Richmond has been reduced to a one-man-team, Michael Ferrante, i'd be surprised if they avoided relegation. They controlled the game v Heidelberg but had no penetration in attack. Heidelberg continually played long balls to Richmonds defence instead of trying to dominate the game like they could've with the strength of their list on paper.

Very solid win by Dandy. Despite what the article says, we did create quite a few chances - so it's fortunate we were kept down to only a 1 goal win.

Oakleigh will still be one of the favourites this year - but don't be surprised to see Dandy pushing for top spot come the end of the year.

Springvale White Eagles - pfft, what a joke.

Can Dandy win the title with Korcarevski and Ukalovski as their two strikers? I don't think they can..

But they have one of the best midfields in the league with Tomic, Sherbon, Taylor and Theodore.

To continue gaining experience.

They were playing last year, the only difference is that this year they are playing for points which means the state league sides have to take them seriously this year rather than putting fringe members of the squad in. They played very well last week against Springvale, but they'll get beaten most weeks.

Going to be interesting to see how Heart's youth team goes next year - Victory clearly have a big advantage with their youth team playing all year round in Youth League and State League.

What you guys did with VTC last year, we're doing with WA NTC this year. It's causing a fuckload of a hullabaloo out here too among PL clubs.

Nice to see South Melbourne playing with two strikers :) I tipped them for the title, despite Oakleigh's unbelievably strong squad!

Stuff all these institutes etc getting a free ride in the senior mens state competitions. It's bullshit. Time and money is spent by clubs trying to win a competition, avoid relegation etc only for ladder positions to be compromised by a side that can't be champion or can't get relegated. Even if the VTC finish on top of the ladder by 20 points they can't compete in the play-offs. What crap. It's just another slap in the face to clubs and fans by the FFV.

Best way for any talented youngsters to progress is to play in a senior mens comp not in some pampered artificial environment like the VTC are. Markovski, Viduka, Scott McDonald, Boutsianis, Silic, Okon were all 16-17 year olds playing in senior sides where expectations and pressure to perform were generally high.

Fingers crossed

I believe we have the best system in place - but once the grounds get heavy and bogged - system means little

I like what EK has brought to the team - most of all respect from the playing group

I also believe by seasons end we will have 2-3 youth players playing regular football under Eddie

Oakleigh have opened up the checkbook again this year - once more little develoipement opportunity

It'd be nice if Bentleigh were able to play their seniors matches on their synthetic pitch. Their grass pitch is looking pretty average at the moment and would avoid the problem of getting heavy and bogged l;ater in the season. Im guessing the reason they only play the u21s games on it is because theres not enough room for the spectators if the seniors played on the synthetic, or is there another reason?
